48 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 6/20
Update - 7/9/12 -- Very disappointed in ur latest visit. Food was still good. But 2 major issues: 1) Our server was one of the worst Iíve ever had at a brewpub; I felt like I was at Chileís or another chain.
2) I ordered a sampler of all 5 beers, since itíd been a while since Iíd been here. All 5 tasted soapy and nothing like they were supposed to. When I informed the server, this was absolutely no surprise to him. As best I could tell, they knew the beer was off and served it anyway.
And of course, since our server was an idiot, I never did get a glass with the bottled beer I ordered after sending the samplers back.
Old review: Great little microbrewery blocks from the beach. Nice selection of bottled beer; Iíd give them a higher rating on selection if they wouldnít run out of their own brews so much.
Food is excellent; best fried shrimp on the island.

Stopped in while on vacation. This place has an enormous beer list of commercial beers, especially considering what city this is in. They only had 5 beers on tap, and one of them was a lemonade blend. The others were mediocre at best. The most telling thing was, although this place was packed, I was literally the only one drinking their beer. Everyone else had Coors Light or other bottles. Their food on the other hand was pretty kick ass. We started with the calimari which was meaty and tender, some of the best Iíve tried, then we got their famous burgers. Very juicy and flavorful. Try the beer if you must but the food is what stands out here. A little pricy though.

I was really looking forward to going to this place during my visit to Corpus Christi. The atmosphere was good. Lots of people. Bikers drinking out of growlers on the porch. No brewing equipment at all. The had these mini fermenters at the bar where apparently they use a pre mix and add water. Iím serious. We ordered a pizza and I ordered an Island Pale Ale. It came to me looking like dirty river water. No head whatsoever. The taste was absolutely horrid. I actually couldnít drink anymore. The waiter asked if there was something wrong with it and I told him how I felt about the beer. He apologized and told me that there Backwater Bock was "a great beer" and that I should try it. He brought it too me and again, disgusting. I then ordered some Stone and was fine. I guess because they use the pre mix system the beer just sucks. The bottle selection was actually pretty good so they should really just scrap the "brewpub" and became a tap house. The pizza was average. Looked like a frozen pizza.

this is going to sound like a rant!!!
this place brews 8 of their own beers only 4 were available ok they ran out!
i ordered a sampler of their 4 beers, the watress then told me i had to order 5 beers for the sampler???? but you only have 4 on tap! ok.
I ordered their famous stopher buger with avacado (done Medium). it showed up all dried out well done, the avacado was rock hard ($9.00 burger)
-all their over stock beer is stored in front of a big window, sucking in the sun light. Proper Glassware? no glassware i saw people drinking stone right from the 22 oz bomber.
props to the brewer but i recommend that he moves on before the go under!
