68 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Fin (377) Merton, Oxfordshire, England, England | May 14, 2012 We visited here last night Monday 14th May 2012 to watch a gig The Lovely Eggs (excellent by the way). I’ve been here a few times over the years, usually for Morris related events and have always found it friendly, welcoming and with a nice buzz about the place. I suppose more importantly despite a limited choice of beer they have always been well kept and the Belhaven Golden Bay and Timothy Taylors Golden Best were no exception last night. I know that they had 2 handpumps in the front bar but I have a feeling that there might be an option for a third handpump in the lower bar (not sure though) Still in the Cowley Road and St Clements area it is worth popping in if nearby and if you can combine this with a gig I am sure that a good night will be guaranteed. |
