It’s right off Brick Lane. You can chase your curry with a tasty pint. Feels like a 1970s TV show pub. And the locals look the part as well. "You’re nicked!"

Crackin’ little boozer. I can’t really add much more than the other raters. Worth coming for a pint of fresh Brewers Gold alone.

An English boozer just off Brick Lane. Vey small, as suggested by the picture. On tap you get five ales on cask. They had Fuller’s and Crouch Vale Brewers’ Gold. Music was pumped through an amp. Mainly 60’s and 70’s. A few regulars dotted around with some younger drinkers. The pub was very cozy but offered little in entertainment other than music. If you want a beer in proper condition then go here. The CV was like how it is in the Queen’s Head in Chelmsford. Conditioning was perfect. There are some old bottles on the wall for membralia and a lot of old pictures of the area. A fine establishment. If you want a traditional English boozer come here.

Love this place. Ignore my numbers, the place scoring system is pretty pointless. Selection is limited to 5 casks. 3 Fullers, one guest and the house Brewers Gold, which is most of the reason to come here and on top form. Great selection of whisky if you fancy digging for them too. The place itself is excellent. A proper old English boozer with plenty of interesting folks, a good selection of 60s and 70s music, traditional decor, lots of pumpclimps from beers of yesteryear to look at along with some oldy worldy bottles framing the windows. A good everyone is having a good time vibe place. Not somewhere for masses of scoops but who cares? A damn good nights boozing can be had in here.

Yup, cozy, friendly and attracting a younger, slightly alternative crowd. Beer was great, but the best thing.... this place stays open past 11pm. We were served beer until midnight. Not sure how that happend, but it just meant more Brewer’s Gold to end the night. Great place.

Nice and friendly local pub tucked away just a couple of meters away the bustling Brick Lane with it’s Bangladeshi and Indian restaurants. Nice, friendly and knowledgable staff. Up to five real ales, a couple of Fullers and some guest beers (Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold on my visit in August 2008). Inhabited by friendly locals. As stated, nice cozy and friendly place.

Friendly - almost suburban - East-end pub with with gorgeous Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold on tap ! Friendly landlady, sleepy cat..... Good for a relaxed evening.

Brick Lane. Ripper area. (The 10 Bells is 250 meters away) It’s the (almost only) pub in the area. Ales are well kept, and there is always one champion beer -often two. Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold is always on pump. Very comfortable. Lanny (short for Landlord) the rescue cat is usually imperturbably present. Quite the local. Staff was pleasant and chatty. Tables outside. NB: Some years ago HASSRALE highly recommended this pub for the availability of award winning ales.
