A truly magnificent pub that is clearly unchanged from the giddy heights of the pub day. Ornate, complex and beautiful. For once forget about the beer and step in to this pub from a time gone past. And if you are needing some Sam Smiths ticks... double win. Just exquisite!

If youíre interested in pub interiors design and etc. This is a MUST extremely grand and ornate interior. Very cosy place with separate booths which apparently served to keep the different classes of people drinking in the pub separate. Selection is not amazing since itís a sam smiths pub, but they are very good value for money! Must visit pub!

Very ornate interior in this Sam Smiths pub near Holborn. Typical Sam Smiths range, prices were OK. Has more space upstairs. Worth a visit.

Maze of a pub. Ornate windows and multiple nooks keep alive the Victorian feel. Wish the beer was better than just OK.

A beautifully ornate Sam Smiths pub on High Holborn edging on Theatreland and the pub is pure theatre in itself. Gilded mirrors, etched windows, gold and red colour scheme, in the style of the old Gin Palaces with booths and screens. The gents are marble and have a preservation order on them. However, beyond the building itself, you are then left with the Sam Smithís range of beers, be very careful about ordering bottles as they are particularly expensive.

If you like Victorian pub architecture & interiors, Princess Louise is pure pub-porn. The Whole pub is a monument to the 19th-century high-Victorian craftsmanship. Even the gentsí toilets is a Victorian pleasure. For further reading I recommend the book "Londonís best pubs" by Peter Haydon. And the beers? Lovely! Samuel Smith Extra Stout was awesome. This Samuel Smith pub is one of the most beautiful pubs in London. Their beers were all excellent. Located not far from Covent Garden. I love it. Good prices.
All in all I must say that i do not understand the earlier raters. Yes, this pub has limited beers, but itís a pub owned by the brewery.

A pleasant Sam Smiths pub. The interior is quite ornate and "classic". The beer range, as with many - nay, all - Sam Smiths pubs leaves much to be desired, but thatís just the way it goes. The interior is attractive, though, and the draft beers arenít too expensive; the bottles, on the other hand, can be downright extortionate. The upstairs seating room is particularly inviting. There are much better options in the neighborhood.

A Sam Smiths house. Unlike many of the Sam Smiths pubs around London, it does serve their one remaining cask ale. Last time I visted, it also had the Imperial Stout in bottles, which is not always a given for Sam Smiths pubs. And, unlike some, it does have a genuine (if somewhat restored) interior. Mosaic floors, tiling, ornate mirrors, carved, moulded celing & panelled wood make for a truly impressive experience. The gents toilets are worth a look too. Overseas vistors may well want get their Sam Smiths fix and this place vies with the Citie of York just down the road as the best place to do so. Even for locals, itís worth a look for the architecture alone but youíre not going to be rushing back here for the a dynamic beer experience. As with all Sam Smiths pubs, the beers are very well priced (for London).

If youíre going to visit only one Sam Smiths pub, this should probably be it. The Princess Louise is a beautifully restored pre-Victorian bar located only a stoneís throw from Holborn station. The Bar is a wonderful representation of the pubs of the pre-long bar days of the 18th and early 19th century. As such, the bar is divided into sections around a central bar, allowing you a seemingly private drinking experience from other groups. The pub has been restored beautifully, thereís wonderful ceramic tile walls, stained glass, and a well appointed wooden bar. The beer is Sam Smiths, so take from that what you will. The beer isnít the draw of this pub. With that being said, the condition is usually fine, and Iíve had a good number of cheap nights out here.
