Best café in the Netherlands! 23 beers on draft and very nice staff. They know everything about the dutch beers and breweries. I come back soon

’t Arendsnest is possibly one of the best beer bars I’ve visited - everything is high class, everything is as it should be. The walk from the Red Light District is not too far, and after you make it once you’ll have no trouble the next time. From the outside this place is not immediately noticed (it’s not hidden, just has a small sign), otherwise looking exactly the same as the buildings nextdoor. Very nice bottle list, exclusively Dutch. Across the canal from it is one of the better coffee shops in the city, Amnesia, not full of the riffraff seen in the RLD. Seems the Dutch like their beer fairly sweet. To me I think they should balance the sweetness some, but then again I do appreciate the new, interesting and hybrid styles that the Dutch brewers seems to create. Had a Dutch russian imperial stout here that was fairly unique, and a quad the night before that was amazing - smelled and tasted like it was aged in merlot oak barrels. Also the SNAB Pale Ale is a good US-like use of hops. Overall, this bar has a LOT to offer the beer traveler, the focus on Dutch beer is the draw. I can’t wait to go back, as this bar was one of the highlights of my European trip in 2006.

Near perfect place for a brew. Quite, residental local with warm and friendly staff. Great rotating selection with constantly rotating guest tap. Very friendly, helpful and informed staff.

One of the best places I’ve ever been into, and the choice to focus on Dutch beers makes it really unique.

The Barman is a bit reserved until he has seen you a few times. I met the owner and his wife, young and hard workers. The Barman & Owner were quite knowledgeable and took me on a very nice tour of Dutch beers. They also know their Genevers quite well and I’ve developed a taste for Genever thanks to them. Great place for a "Kopstoot" and some tasty bar snacks

My favorite Amsterdam pub over their sister pub, Beer Temple, and In De Wildeman. Phenomenal selection, especially Dutch beers. I had no idea there were so many good Dutch beers!

The best place to sample dutch beers. This place has a real taster vibe to it - almost everyone there is really taking note of what they are drinking. Very limited food selection but what they have is great - interesting cheeses and sausages. Very fancy environment - the staff are perfection. No pretense but they truly know everything about what they are serving and love to talk about it. On a second trip to Arendsnest in 5/12 had an even better experience, the staff here truly are the very best and have no pretense or judgement whatsoever. Upranking the food a bit too because it really is the perfect stuff to eat while focusing on trying new beers. This is the 3-star Michelin of beer bars. Absolute perfection.

Best bar in the Netherlands. The only reason I did not give full score is that place is narrow and sometimes over crowded. Bad news also for disabled persons; if you are in wheelchair forget this place. In case accessibility will be fixed I believe this bar is strong to win Worlds Greatest Bar contest.

This is the place to go when in Amsterdam. A guy came to the bar and asked for some Belgian beer and the bartender said, "we only serve Dutch beers". The man’s face was incredible, "ONLY Dutch beer?" he said. Well, hey, there’s a lot of great beer here. The 30 or so taps, plus the extensive bottles, can entertain you for a long time. Prices were reasonable, I thought (4 euros for a good imperial stout, smallish glass of 30 cl)--with a charming ambience and very helpful bartenders. I’m going back....
