Visited in 2013. This is the place I would go to drink beer in Amsterdam if I only had to choose one place. The reason is they focus on beer from the Netherlands and I always try to drink local beer while traveling. Nice place, friendly bartenders and friendly crowd.

Never really crowded when I seem to be there, although apparently it can be quite crowded. Poshy style. You always have to watch those horrible golden tubings when ordering. Selection is nice for tourists, but everytime I visit (about 2-4 times a year), I already know 80-90% of the tap beers. Service is quite ok and most of the time they do know about their beers. Very friendly as well. For a tourist, the place to go. For a local, not so much.
Original: So I went to this place with jerohen, because i was interested in this ídeadí place. And i have to say: itís not really crowdy. It looks fantastic, the staff knows what they are talking about. The beer selection is superb, and definitely essential for non-dutch ratebeerians. But, it just didnít do it for me.

Visited several times since 2012.
This place has at least one beer from every operating dutch brewery. Lots of good stuff, 30 beers on tap, rare brews, vintages, great snacks,...Legendary place!

Definitely a must in Amsterdam: a beautiful bar with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Decent prices for a huge selection of only Dutch beers.

Visited on our trip to Amsterdam. Its located in the heart of Amsterdam so easy to find. The ambiance is your neighborhood bar that only is serving beers from the Holland area. They have about 30+ taps of known labels such as De Molen to locals you may never see again. Service was outstanding as the bartender was very helpful with all the different beers available letting us taste and making suggestions. The selection of bottles was also outstanding for what they were offering. The prices were also great for Amsterdam. Overall, the place was a great find during our stay and worth the 3 hours we spent there. Great location, beers, prices and service. Highly recommended beer bar you have to visit if you are in Amsterdam.

Top notch beer bar in central Amsterdam. The outside seating area is very popular, but on this occasion we plumped for indoors. The bar is rather grand and the feel has age and style as a benefit. When you show an interest in the types of beer you are well looked after by very knowledgeable staff, giving you tasters and making suggestions. A trip to Amsterdam would be the poorer without visiting this.
