All I have to say is DUCK FAT FRIES!! Ok in all honesty the place is beautiful. The smell of BBQ when you walk in will have you ordering food even if your not hungry. Amazing beers on tap. Prices for food and drinks were a little pricy, but worth every penny. The duck fat fries were seriously the most delicious french fries I've ever had! Service was ok, but was really busy the night I stopped in so I won't hold it against our bartender. This place is a must if your in the area!

Stopped here for lunch the day after the 4th of July. We came here just before noon, after stopping and getting our allotment from Alchemist Brewery and were able to beat the lunch crowd. We picked a booth that was not far from the window and still could see the bar (there is a wall divider that blocks the view somewhat). The bar really stands out as it is quite grand. Really nice feel to the place. They had a fairly good draft selection. I had my first Heady Topper from tap and also had a small glass of an imperial stout that I can’t recall what it was. Both were excellent and prices fair. I had a barbecue sandwich which was stacked high with succulent meat. Very good, especially for a place outside of Texas. Overall, this was a great place for eating and drinking and will definitely recommend it as well as come back here when I return to Vermont.

Really solid tap selection, but the bar was pretty packed. It seems like this is really popular for bbq, but the food did nothing for me. I’m not chomping to go back, but the beer selection is really good, so I’d be happy.

I have visited a few times since the reopening of the late Alchemist (RIP) and the feel and crowd mostly remained the same which is very fortunate. They refocused on grilled foods and are being rather succesful at that albeit I was never as impressed as I was led to expect being with the food. My best plate ever was one with grilled shrimps that was a one-off I’ve never encountered again and all the rest pales in comparison. Service is always very helpful despite the immense popularity of the place and frequent waiting lines. The tap selection is not even the largest in town, but almost every time I visit, I feel like drinking 50%+ of what’s on offer which means that the quality level is very high indeed. Prices are also rather high though with serving sizes being especially small and not always with appropriate glasswares here, leading to pricey beers for Vermont. I’ve never even had to browse at the bottle list. Top notch spot, but my heart belongs to the BlackBack and as soon as I’m done with my plate, for all the great selection available at Prohibition Pig, that’s where I want to head to finish the evening.

This place feels like a Chicago bar. Big and open with a great tap line up. Food looked great, we only had a really good dessert. Drafts are available in multiple sizes and definitely some gems on the list overall. Definitely coming back here.

Very nice restaurant in the middle of Waterbury. Great indoor ambient. Smoked aroma from Kitchen, printed updated tap list on special paper and so on. Food servings were tad small but so good. Burgers were excellent , pastrami was dry though. Excellent local beer list.

Bonne place pour arrêter manger et boire quelques sessions intéressantes et j’ai fais la paix avec le fish n’ chips. L’ancien local de The alchemist a pratiquement pas changé.

The BBQ is terrible (some of the worst I’ve had), but the beer list is excellent and the whiskey list is absolutely out of this world. They had the entire Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and were only charging $14 for 2oz. What! Best whiskey selection I’ve ever seen considering the combination of quality and price. Some places have bigger but charge you 3x as much; other places may have a few expertly chosen bottles for fair prices but the total selection is small (Gingerman NYC).
