Right next door to Proof and sharing the same owners, this place has great operating hours (even Sundays at noon or so lol) and great staff! In fact, some of ratebeer’s own work here so if you are in town and a fairly active ratebeerian, shoot drowland a PM to see what’s up. The store at first looks like it doesn’t stock beer at all- just a typical liquor store! You have to walk into the back and to the left are a series of refrigerators stocking your normal Bud Light stuff all the way to Orval, St Bernardus, Terrapin, Left Hand, Highland, Cigar City, Sweetwater, Bells and more. Lots of singles to choose from, which is very nice if you want to try a variety of things. Prices were pretty good. Orval is $3.99, Bells singles were $1.99, Saison Dupont 750s were $7.50. Good place to stock up on fresh Jai Alai. Picked up Dupont Avec les bon Voeux here i.a. and it was awesome. Great place for beer in Tallahassee. I never went to Fermentation Market so I can’t compare selections. Customer Service.....depends on who is on staff that day! I lucked out and got a fellow ratebeerian which was pretty cool. Probably the best thing about having a ratebeerian as staff is you can get the straight up: "nah, that beer sucks." or "that beer isn’t that fresh." Cheers to our expanding ratebeer community!

What a great spot! Nice selection of beer and right next door is a superb pub/bar. I was lucky enough to run into Byron--one if the owners. He let me have some samples from his taps and he even brought me a sweet beer that he had from a recent tasting. Great place!!

Rerate 10/15/07- Excellent new place in Tallahassee located near the FSU campus (Look for Starbucks on Tennessee). Nice, spacious and well lit. Has a huge cooler full of beer, a walk in cooler behind it and a small display shelf for the remainder. All the common Belgians are here with a few surprises I had not had yet, wide selection of German commons, British ales, and a solid representation of west coast /Colorado micros - Left Hand, Avery, Mad River, Rogue etc - which is a nice change in this neck of the woods. Some Northeast micros making a show now too - Stoudts, Dogfish and the Midwest is chiming in - Bell’s, and Jolly Pumpkin. Spoke with the owner/manager and he says he is working on getting some more Bell’s, 3 Floyd’s, Victory and possibly Stone, etc. He is very familiar with the beer scene and what’s available - even has Ratebeer shelf talkers in place. 12 oz singles are now available - some are a bit pricey though - for example Green’s an organic from Belgium with very low ratings was $6.50 a bottle - others were more reasonable at $2.25 per. This will become a regular stop for me. If you are in town for a game - check them out.

It’s a liquor store with a fantastic selection of beer... for Tally. Looks like Byron pulls every quality craft beer humanly possible in this part of the state. Ownership and staff could not be more friendly or more accommodating. He actually pulled tables in and opened up the liquor store to a ratebeer tasting... on a Saturday. Wow!

Very nice selection of micros and seasonals. The prices for me was a bit expensive, but overall for this area they seemed reasonable. The help was pleasant and egger to assist, but they mad dogged me while I was looking. That seemed kind of weird. I’m sure I will return here the next time I visit the inlaws.

Wow. We have the same distributor here in Hernando county, but they have a lot more cool beer. Lots of great beer from Sweetwater, Terrapin, All manner of Florida beer and basically every beer that is available. Lots of cooler doors in craft section and even more on the shelves. Plenty of liquor with the beer in the back of the place. If I lived in Tally, this is where I would go.

This is hands down the best beer store in Tallahassee. Other rates will complain about location or the "scene" but the fact is they consistently get the best selection of the best beers available in Tallahassee. If you’re into beer, that’s all that really matters. Friendly and knowledgable staff to boot.

Our very own Drowland works here so BM him before you stop in. Really nice selection of south eastern brews with a pretty good import selection.

Decent selection of beer, as good as any in town. A few off-the-path offerings, but nothing unheard of in Florida. A little on the pricey side. They don’t break 6 packs, but they do have a pretty nice selection of singles. Close to FSU campus, hard to get to from anyplace other than the west part of town though. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I did see the Ratebeer shelf talkers. I’d been dragging my feet getting over there, but the selection of Christmas/Winter beer closeouts made it worth the trip for me.

Best bottle shop right now in tally. Mostly the regulars that we can get in this area - but they add to it fairly often. Some of the new offerings come and go pretty quick though. They had bells hopslam for what seemed liked a day before it was gone, never to be seen again. It’s hit or miss as far as price. A lot of the six packs are a buck or two less than Market Square - but some of the singles are overpriced. The owner knows his stuff and they’re trying. That’s all we can ask for in a beer starved town.
