What a great spot! Nice selection of beer and right next door is a superb pub/bar. I was lucky enough to run into Byron--one if the owners. He let me have some samples from his taps and he even brought me a sweet beer that he had from a recent tasting. Great place!!
Phenomenal new liquor / beer store in Tallahassee that raises the bar for all other local establishments. Beautiful store layout and design, top-notch customer service and an endless selection of beer. Prices are far lower than other local stores - a must see!
This is without a doubt the best bottle shop in Tallahassee. They have an incredible selection of beer. If it’s available in Tallahassee, they have it. Proof Bottle Shop also offers large a selection of single beers. The prices are very fair here. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the industry and beer in general. There aren’t too many beer shops where you can find a staff that is as knowledgeable as they are. I always make an effort to stop by if I am in the area.

Located within Proof Brewing Company, the bottle shop (formerly Liquor Loft) has continued to expand its selection, with the addition of more breweries (Green Flash, Avery etc.) as well as additional beers from the breweries they carry. New distributor switch over in town, with a more craft beer conscious distributor having rights to the majority of American Micros is allowing the place to get a lot more brews. This is still the premier place in North Florida, and the selection continues to improve in terms of quantity and quality of products.
Rerate 10/15/07- Excellent new place in Tallahassee located near the FSU campus (Look for Starbucks on Tennessee). Nice, spacious and well lit. Has a huge cooler full of beer, a walk in cooler behind it and a small display shelf for the remainder. All the common Belgians are here with a few surprises I had not had yet, wide selection of German commons, British ales, and a solid representation of west coast /Colorado micros - Left Hand, Avery, Mad River, Rogue etc - which is a nice change in this neck of the woods. Some Northeast micros making a show now too - Stoudts, Dogfish and the Midwest is chiming in - Bell’s, and Jolly Pumpkin. Spoke with the owner/manager and he says he is working on getting some more Bell’s, 3 Floyd’s, Victory and possibly Stone, etc. He is very familiar with the beer scene and what’s available - even has Ratebeer shelf talkers in place. 12 oz singles are now available - some are a bit pricey though - for example Green’s an organic from Belgium with very low ratings was $6.50 a bottle - others were more reasonable at $2.25 per. This will become a regular stop for me. If you are in town for a game - check them out.
I am honestly glad I stopped here on my way home from Orlando. I cannot stress to you how awesome this place is.
Atmosphere: The place is small but adequate for the product they have. I’m pretty sure they had wine and liquor but honestly didn’t check as I was only interested in the beer which was around the corner.
Quality: GREAT selection. If it is available in Florida these guys do their damndest to get it in. I saw Southern Tier, Terrapin, Victory, Magic Hat and all sorts of other beers.
Service: These guys were amazing. The two employees that were there were very engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the product. Even made great recommendations. I left to eat lunch next door and came back to take pictures for my blog and they ended up calling Byron who came down to the store. Very cool!
Selection: As I said earlier, EXCELLENT. Perhaps worth skipping anything in the Panhandle to make a trip over here. They showed me the bar next door, Proof and oh my God it was awesome. About 25 beers on tap and they were great. I even saw some Swamp Head beer which is new to the area.
Best beer store in selection in town with knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Only about two other places in town that have quality and quantity on par with here.

By far the best Bottle Store in Tallahassee, and you never have to worry about how old the IPA you are buying is. Only thing I can say negative is that the prices are up there if you just buy singles. As I said before, the best in Tallahassee.
