Half lounge, half liquor store. Stopped in early on a week night. Relatively quiet, just a few locals. Bartender was less than engaging, but the price for a round of beers was a pleasant surprise; must have some stellar happy hour specials. Had the IPad with me, but the bar’s WiFi required a password that seemed to be top secret. Whatever. Went next store and grabbed a few bombers for later. Good selection, attentive staff.

Best beer bar in the area based on selection and prices. Weekend crowds aren’t conducive to a quiet beer tasting, but weeknights have a great atmosphere and the events are frequent and casks pretty common. A must see place for any craft beer lover coming through the area. Also a bonus that you can bring in outside food to enjoy! UPDATE: Proof Brewing Company has opened downstairs, bringing the tap total to 50, with dedicated lines for lambics & sours. Downstairs atmosphere is cozier, but a much darker feel due to dim lightning. There’s a patio outback with a side-bar as well. Tallahassee’s best just got better.

Proof is definitely the place to go for beer geeks in Tallahassee. Great selection and beers rotate pretty regularly. The modern atmosphere is really nice and usually attracts a good crowd but weekends are packed with college students and loud music.

Best beer bar in Tallahassee. Stopped here to try beers I couldnt get at home and the bartenders were very helpful by letting me sample several beers. The selection was amazing with some rarities and BAs. Unique how its connected to a liquor store. If you are in Tallahassee you must stop here for a few.

The place for beer on tap in Tally. Nice location close to campus with tons of hotel options. Really nice selection for the area, you will not find these tap offerings elsewhere!

Great bar consisting of 28 taps and a friendly staff. My choice place to visit after work for a great brew. Always new beers on tap that seem to rotate weekly. Also plenty of great bottles to chose from. When available they host some awesome cask ale nights found nowhere else in town.

If you are either visiting or simply stuck in Tallahassee, this is the best beer bar in town. Most of the staff know their beer and are typically friendly and welcoming. The 28 taps rotate pretty regularly and there is a good selection of bottles as well. A lot of cask and other special beer events happen on a pretty regular basis. A second RateBeer tasting is coming up soon. Proof leads the way and sets the standard in Tallahassee. The only downside...it can get quite crowded later at night and, given its proximity to FSU, become something of a college bar but if that helps bring in special beers and keep prices reasonable, then it is well worth it. Then again, that might be to some folks liking. That is one of the nice things about Proof, it has a pretty eclectic crowd and is a fav of many different groups of folks. No food but a number of places will deliver and the staff have menus available.

Proof is the best beer bar in Tallahassee. Thirty or so taps that are rotated regularly. They have done well to bring in newly available micros and hard to find one offs. My only complaint is the same as many others: it’s in the college area. After about ten o’clock I have to get out of there. Luckily (or unluckily) my opportunities to drink come earlier in the evening and at that time Proof is spacious and comfortable. One suggestion: open at noon on weekends. There is no place in town with good taps that opens during the day. Me and the old lady need a place to get some good brew before hitting the early bird special at the sizzler.

Great bar best in Tallahassee. Tap selection is top notch, constantly rotating with something for almost all tastes. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Bottle selection could be better but I have heard that a new one will arrive very shortly. Wednesdays are great. with several good drafts for only three bucks. Usually a pretty fun happy hour crew, and a great night life spot.

Nice little bar attached to a liquor store. Met up with some local raters from Tallahassee while in town. Very nice selection of beers on tap in bottles. I believe the only downside was the lighting, its a bit dim for proper rating. Service was excellent and the help knows beer.
