76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 podey (50) New York, New York | March 28, 2013 A pretty good selection of American craft brews, pretty decent bottle list. Can be get slammed late night and after work but off hours it’s pretty nice.. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (345) Montreal, Quebec | February 2, 2013 Now here is a strange place to visit while walking around the lively and somewhat trendy part of SoHo. Only 10 to 15 minutes walk from the top bar in town (Blind Tiger) here is something totally different. I’ve never been at night and I suspect I would not like it very much at night with music and a lot of people. But for an early pm visit this place is really cool. You look around and you feel like they built a bar in a stable/barn except you are downtown NY. It’s really something totally different than every other bar in town. Draft list is actually two different lists. They have the ‘Year Round Draught’ of about 12+ standard pub stuff (Magic Hat #9, SN Pale Ale, Goose Island IPA, Brooklyn Lager, Bass, Guiness, you get the picture) and there’s another 12+ lines of seasonal draught which can offer interesting options. Half-decent bottle list of about 50 different items. I didn’t have the food. But it’s the place itself when relatively empty that is a much welcomed change of pace. I’ll go back there during pm. | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 chadtibb (3) New York, New York | September 5, 2012 really really loud, I like loud and this was over the top. Beer selection is amazing. hands down one of the best in nyc. food was eh....service was below avereage, but they seemed busy.
I will be back however, they are close to my house | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (465) Toronto, ON, Ontario | October 2, 2010 Medium-sized bar down at the edge of Soho. Darkly lit. Fronted by the bar area with a larger seated area in back. Decent tap list - lots of Smuttynose on when I was in along with a selection of other craft beer. Staff aren’t exactly knowledgeable about the beer, but that’s okay - it’s not really a craft beer bar per se. Food leans toward Irish Pub with some other additions like pate, quesadillas and cubano sandwiches. Worth stopping in as it one of the better spots in the immediate area. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 Leighton (390) London, England | August 18, 2010 Above average NYC bar. They will have a lot of good American craft beer, but not usually anything great. I’ve had the chicken wings and they were good. Average value. A good option for the neighborhood. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 Nalu (18) Washington | August 12, 2010 A great place around the corner and down the street from Swift’s Hibernian. More modern and popular than Swift’s, selection and service not as good, nor as knowledgeable. Still, it’s an enjoyable place and a decent value. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 Maltajo (36) Tucson, Arizona | July 1, 2009 Great drinking place in Soho! Good crowd , nice selection of all kinds of yummy goodness! I went to eat and the service was very slow but once the waitress got to me the beer started flowing. They even had my favorite, Captain Lawrence Imperial Pale Ale! And my bacon cheese burger was the best I had in a looong time! Great place! I will be going back for sure! Enjoy! |
