seperated into two rooms, one of which houses a band and the other a short bar with a right angle. pretty long tap list and longer bottle list, easy to read large chalkboards list all the taps and bottles with bottles broken down by country (with the USA being the longest and getting its own board). talkative bartender offered me the newest stuff he had and seemed to know what was happening. you wont get killed on a saturday night and acoustics from the room next door are enough under control so you dont go mad at the bar.

Very friendly place with lots of great beers, both in bottles and cans. Very unpretentious and much more spacious than the Map Room. Gets some things Iíve never seen before in Chicago. Very friendly bartenders and staff. They begrudgingly put sports on TV when something important is on, but youíre more likely to see the Discovery Channel or Nat Geo on the flatscreens.

Kind of a sketch place. Decent beer selection with a wall of countries and the beer from them. Free popcorn. Cash only was not fun but varying prices. Bottle of Abyss $20.

Iíd qualify this as a hipster bar - which isnít necessarily a bad thing. Itís got an old-timey "built with my own two hands" type feel to it. They have a tiny music venue attached which can be hit or miss. Great selection of taps and bottles - more so on bottles as they bring in beers from all over the world - which rotates regularly. Routinely busy, but youíll never wait long for a drink - their bartenders work well as a team to cover the patrons. Tough to say on the value, They have some good deals and specials, but at the same time have no problem charging a hefty fee for a 10oz or smaller pour. They do have food, mostly standard bar fare, but I didnít sample it. They also have a popcorn machine that patrons can use to pop there own snack at no charge - which is great from a snacking point of view ... although after my nose became flooded with popcorn aromas, all my beers started to smell buttery - so thatís a push, and I felt it unfair to judge them on food. You come here for the beer selection and maybe some live music.

This place is really dingy looking with a small sized room attached with a stage for music acts. They have a huge international selection in bottles displayed in a cool wooden cooler. Their draft list has a lot of special things on it. Itís super neighbor-hoody, friendly, and charming, but itís not a place I would take a girl on a first date.

I walked by this place on the way to Revolution and decided that I should stop in on my way back. This definitely has an old feel to it (both the decor and the help). Pretty good beer list over all but I went with a Lagunitas beer. I ended up sitting next to a guy named Bob who gave me the history of the place and the problems that theyíve had with opening the patio. Fun place but Iím not sure it will be on my list of regular stops in Chicago, though the pints were pretty cheap.

My favorite neighborhood bar! Iíve been coming here since I first started going to bars (which is a long time), and Iíve always felt welcomed. They have close to 300 beers from around the world in stock every day, about 18 of which are on tap! They also have a friendly staff, daily specials, free popcorn and a room for live bands. They are open until 2am, 3 on Saturdays. They do have food, but I come here to drink and to chill. I suggest you try it. Youíll like it!

This is a great neighborhood bar with a great overall ambience and feel. They specialize in beers from around the world bottled. They have an excellent draft selection with two dozen beers on tap With plenty of craft beers. The food is regular bar food but thereís always popcorn ready for you. They also have a side room for live music. This service is great gives you a regular Chicago feel!

This place has gone through a lot of changes since Iíve lived in the area. On my last visit, they had a huge draft list and the popcorn was flowing freely. Iíd pop in here again given the opportunity.

Classic neighborhood Chicago bar, but with a Cicerone-managed beer list and rotating craft taps. See also: IPA Month, Belgian Fortnight, Stout Month and sponsored road trips to local breweries and beer events.

Iíve heard great things about this place for awhile so finally walked the mile and half up there, at too busy of an intersection, actually a bit tough to get too... the ambiance is a throw back to craft beer bars of 10 years ago, dirty and old, and full of people who just liked beer to be cool and trendy, a couple small tvs and a band room where someone was playing... 3 chalk boards show their drafts, roughly 20 beers, nice selection of locals and hard to find stuff (including $6 pours of Angelís Share, the best Angel Share version Iíve ever had), a huge tickerís dream chalk board lists beers from each country they have (Including not see easy to tick places like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Greece, Croatia, and Slovakia)... service was meh, the bartender was quick to arrive but knew very little of beer, and had no idea what Cantillon was despite having several bottles listed on their bottle list... food wise, after bad reviews on here, and seeing food there I didnít try it(look disgusting) but they did have some overly salted popcorn to munch on...not a fan of the this older hipster wannabe crowd but I would come back... As a side they are CASH ONLY so come prepared
