Raku has a fine lineup of about 17 draught Japanese craft, no doubt. Prices are steep though 300mls for 800-850 and 500mls for about 1400. That said, we did the 120min nomihodai for 3500 and felt we got our moneyís worth. They limit access to six, but each one was a good beer and different style. Most of us had 5-7 300 ml glasses, so pricewise it made a lot of sense. The snack plate that came with it was good, but donít expect to make a meal of it. You need to reserve to get the deal, so plan ahead. Raku is a big bigger than Golden Garden ( we tried to go there but they were 100%full on a Friday night).

Really liked this place. Wasnít so busy when we went on a Friday night. Definitely more bright than its sister bar Golden Garden. Decent selection, prices maybe a touch higher than I might have expected, but I was on holiday and having a good day, so didnít mind. Nice staff.

Very crowded when we went. Prices a bit high. Good enough selection of beers on tap--no dogs, really, though maybe not particularly imaginative when compared to Tokyo or even Osaka standards. Still, the best selection of Japanese Craft on tap west of Osaka, I guess. You will surely want to come here if you are drinking beer in town.

From the people behind Golden Garden. The bar can be found just around the corner. Nice enough place with the classic Japanese beer bar fitout, thus light wooden bar top, benches and stools, stainless steel wall taps behind the bar, low lighting etc. Beer list was nothing special BUT for one beer which I was surprised to see. Shonan Belgian Stout (8%) which I ordered a second glass it was tasting that good. Very expensive though - 4 small beers cost me nearly $40. Yep no need to tell me...that hurt. Staff went about their business, it appears very little English is spoken here.
