76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Scopey (271) Croydon, England | May 8, 2013 Great traditional pub located just south of Huddersfield town centre. Inviting and cosy old-fashioned pub interior with friendly staff. They had a rather extensive amount of casks on offer with plenty of their own beers (including a couple of new ones) as well as interesting guest beers. Good value to boot. A great pub all-round. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 sic1314 (229) Leiden, Netherlands | March 9, 2013 Excellent medium sized boozer, interestingly split into different sections. Beer range is generally local and varied. How can you are with a pub where you find a picture of Frank Zappa on the loo? | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Brugmansia (257) Jylland, Denmark | February 20, 2013 Very cosy pub, a bit away from city center. Rather large pub, even though you donīt feel that when sitting in there because of the lay out. Besides there own beers ( Rat Brewing ) they also have a few guest ones. Relax atmosphere, friendly staff and most beers in good condition.. Worth a visit :-) | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 cgarvieuk (123) Edinburgh , Scotland | May 23, 2012 nice cosey multi area old fashioned pub ... wooden floor ... 13 cask taps ... nice friendly staff ... no permanent beers... but a few are rotating from same brewery ... and about 3-4 of there own beers. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Fin (368) Merton, Oxfordshire, England, England | March 22, 2012 Visited here with Dad and Barry 17.03.12. This used to be a regular haunt of mine and Lozs back in the late eighties and early nineties, I remember it fondly and was chuffed to bits to return and find that it is still an excellent pub. thirteen beers on tap including three Rat beers and three Ossett or Riverhead beers as I recall. However with Milltown, Steel City, Little Ale Cart and Magic Rock Eight Ball (the latter on Keg Font dispense) also on offer this was a decent and far from shoddy selection. The barmaid was friendly, chatty and seemed to know her stuff, the punters (mostly tickers and beery types) were all good for a chat. Met Nick from Franconia in this place totally by chance. Really good pub, looking forward to a return visit. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 dogbomb (27) , England | February 11, 2012| Updated February 19, 2012 Brilliant! Attended here recently for a festival and although the pub was almost bursting at the seams, everyone seemed calm, cool, relaxed and happy to serve. Went out of their way to bring me ciders from the back room for the gf and were really accommodating. The layout of the place is really conducive to quiet, relaxed chat and drinking. |
