The bar and the tables are reached through separate doors, but they intercinnect inside. Come here for the bbq, it’s amazing. Draft selection was very solid too. Didn’t see any bottles. Roulette wheel will choose for you if you can’t decide in your iwn. The barladies gave me a samole if the cask dipa just to reinfirce their steering me away from it. Great place.

cool hangout for fans of bikes, beer, and bbq. one of the few places that holds events for the tour de france- like bbq and beer breakfasts during mountain stages. lot of character to both the bar and basement. neat art in the basement reminds me of three floyds. bbq is fine, but nothing special. unique ambiance and fine beer list are big draws. also within walking distance from me, so convenient to boot.

I went here for the first time this past Saturday after the ACBF, its really not what I had imagined it would be. It’s tightly packed with chairs, loud, eclectic and crowded. We’ve got a bar on the left with seating against the wall and seating at the bar as well. On the right side of the wall is the main dining area. We grabbed a beer and snagged a couple of seats in the bar area while we waited for our table. The service was great despite the number of patrons filling the place like they know how to handle busy. We waited 30 min or so for out table and ordered some hush puppies as an appetizer. We both got brisket, I got a plate and my company had a sandwich. The food is great, the brisket was tender, ample and flavorful, the dirty rice side was also great. Its barbeque and its done well and priced as such. If in the area I would definitely come back.

This is a serious BBQ place with an extensive choice of BBQ meat. The plates are huge and I had hard time eating more then half of what was in my plate. Extensive selection of craft beers from MA and around the world is also plus. The place is quite popular and we had to wait about half-hour before being seated even though we showed past 8pm on a Sunday night. It doesn’t really matter has it leave time to sit around the bar and have a few drinks. The waitress was great and really helpful. The only things that I though could be improving upon would be the sides, the coleslaw was lacking in flavour and the beans were not sweet or smoky enough (the mac and cheese was great though). This place is really worth the half-hour train ride from Central Boston.

Bit of a dark, basement type restaurant with a pretty decent craft selection of mostly regionals and some good import bottles as well. Beer pricing is very fair. Food is fairly good here...nice bbq menu that can mostly be tailored so you get whatever you want...kind of expensive...food is good but not great...my brisket was very dry. Service was friendly but it seemed understaffed. If I lived in the area, id go again but id probably look for other bbq spots too.

I used to come here a lot when I was younger with my family because the ribs are so amazing. After making a return visit years later, I was quite surprised to see their intriguing beer menu. They rotate pretty regularly, but they’re always varied in terms of style and origin. I have only sat in the bar area once while waiting for a table and felt claustrophobic. The dining area is pretty basic, but the service is usually efficient and the food is amazing. Definitely worth the wait, but I would recommend going at an off hour so that you don’t have to stand in line as it’s a very popular destination for beer drinkers and rib eaters.

This place is overrated for food and beer but I still go here every time I’m in Boston. The service has been bad (rude) both times I’ve been here but fuck those massholes. I think this place used to be better in the early 2000’s and then got shittier as they got a bigger ego. I dunno. Guys in the kitchen were working really hard. I still have the image of them in my head. We were sitting at "bar" seats about 5 feet away from the open kitchen.

Visited in April 2010. Interesting place. A rib shack/beer bar hybrid. Jam packed when we visited on a Sunday evening. The bar area - which was where we wanted to be - was too crowded to get into but we only had a 10 minute wait for a table in the restaurant part. Unfortunately our table was very near the open barbeque pit which meant it was stiflingly hot. Quite basic decor. I found three or four new beers out of a list of 20 or so (note there is an exclusive house beer made by Opa-Opa) to drink while eating the excellent ribs. Despite the crowds service was efficient. Unfortunately the heat and the frenetic atmosphere meant it wasn’t really a place to linger for a few more leisurely beers. If visiting again, I’d aim for a quieter time (if that’s possible).

As far as the food goes I’ve always found the sides better than the actual BBQ. The beer selection is good but actual bar area is rather small.
