Great looking brew pub as you walk in and the surroundings are tranquil compared to the downtown hustle and bustle of the city. I could of spent hours here drinking in the ’garden’. The problem is however, as others have noted, is that the beers are very poor, not sessionable and unfortunately not the beers you would want to sit back with a pint. A real disappointment as this would more than likely be the most relaxed place to enjoy a craft beer in the city. It does warrant a visit though, but more for the quality restaurants that can be found on Dempsey Rd.

Gorgeous spot set in trees with a garden atmosphere. One of the most nature-oriented and beautiful urban brewpubs I have been to. Tons of seating. Has a private garden area out back that would be perfect for parties. Point detracted for playing hideous music. Friendly service, lots of smiles. Have beer books on a library table. This would be a great place to come alone just for some afternoon pints before or after a walk in the Botanic Garden. The beers are decent-on the simple side but all clean and thirst-quenching. Have had their beers several times in KL and they are always fresh and clean so I just don’t get the haters and low raters. Personally I like the spirulina beer. Some other Asian brewpubs make spirulina beer too. Westerners can be a bit closed minded about such things.

This one is a roofed but open air place, like many restaurants here near the equator. The beers don’t seem to be special, and they don’t seem to care much for them either; anyway the service was confused. I also ding them for a bad plate of fish and chips.

Located a fair bit out and not very close to the MRT. Took a MRT to the Botanical station, planned to take the walk through the gardens down there, but some crazy rain and thunder made me cut that walk short, head back and get a cab down there instead.
Located in a sweet very nice garden like area. Under roof seating with open walls. If not raining had outdoors seating as well. Brewery displayed behind a glass wall. 6 beer sampler available. They were out of the Summer Ale at my visit. WiFi available when asking for the password.
I was there between lunch and dinner, then only finger food available before 6 pm. Ate the RedDot Chicken Fagra, and trust me they don’t kid when they warn you it is very spicy! My lips were going numb after the first bite, still nice though.
Nice fast service and helpful staff wen asking for direction to nearby Tawandang brewery. No problems to pay with a card.
A place I’d gladly go back to when in the city, well worth the trip out for the beers, and I wouldn’t mind getting there at a time to try their food as well.
If the weather is better, I’d say the walk through the gardens would still be a good idea. Big parking area available close enough if you’re driving. A couple of the beers were very nice indeed, didn’t get and quality issues with the beers some have described in earlier place ratings.
Had a 6 beer sampler plus 2 smaller pours (½ pints?) of the other two beers available. (One later turned out to be the Brewerkz Oatmeal Stout)

Red Dot on Boat Quay. A cool place with a cool decor, basically, an open restaurant with a big terrasse facing the river. Modern decor, night club like, very tropical moderne, with interesting bathroom and hand washing station, with a little through running thru it. Beeers are a tad boring.

Cool little brewpub situated along historic Boat Quay. Beautiful decor inside, and a nice outdoor patio area. Beers are of the lighter variety, style-wise, which suits the sticky Singapore afternoon. Beers are pretty solid, I particularly liked the Kolsch. Didn’t try the food. I don’t get the RB hate on this place - I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Visited both the Boat Quay and Dempsey locations. Same beer and food menus at both locations. The Boat Quay location is nice because you can overlook the river and people watch while the Dempsey location is a beautiful, natural setting. Either is a great choice. The food was nice; I had the satay. Good prices for Singapore.

Visited on October 7, 2012. Wow! Full marks for ambiance! This could almost be an extension of the nearby Botanical Gardens, an open-air patio with fish ponds, lush vegetation, sounds of insects and birds accompanying the traffic down the hill on Holland Road, along with air-circulating electric fans, a recording loop of Pachelbel’s Canon, and beer. I started with the 5.5% Czech Pilsener, a rather good stab at the real deal and much tastier than the Archipelago Brewery version I tried the previous night at Smokey’s BBQ. Beers are charged according to the time of day - apparently that’s the norm in Singapore. All pints at the Red Dot were $7 SIN (about $5 US) in the afternoon, jumping to $11 (about $8 and change US) after 6pm. Food during my late-afternoon visit was from the Finger Food menu only, but I can highly vouch for the onion rings and potato wedges. All this noble vegetarianism called for another beer, so I upgraded to the 6% seasonal Oktoberfest Märzen. Yum! Cold, crisp, fresh and hoppy. It was an excellent strong Bavarian-style drink and easily stood up to the Paulaner Oktoberfest mass I glugged down the night before at the Brotzeit German Bier Bar opposite Raffles. ("The night before" is taking on a life of its own here.) Off to my last Red Dot pint, their Monster Green Lager Beer, a 5.5% green spirulina, which the menu says just might strengthen my immune system. But how does it taste? Well, sort of a bland, mass-market taste. In a blindfold, but for the heat and the exotic bird songs, I could have been guzzling Molson Canadian back home. Which I don’t! It was a pretty colour, but unless you are keen to drink Green, I’d stick to the other brewpub offerings here. I enjoyed a very pleasant visit, and would rate this place well above the "Good" rating - VERY Good at least. Recommended!

It saddens me to report that the latest addition to Singapore’s burgeoning microbrewery boom is a disappointment. Mediocre beer and atrocious service make it the weakest addition to the scene to date. But first, some general information. RedDot is appealingly situated in Dempsey Road, an area popular with ex-pats for its nightlife. On the Saturday night we visited, the place was almost full and most of the faces at the tables appeared to be local. Much of the seating is open air, which may or may not be a plus, depending on the season. RedDot brews on-site and the Western-style food served here is solid, if a bit uninspiring (pizzas, steaks. etc). Now to the negatives: to this semi-educated palate, the beers tasted like extract brews. I had three of the six available and they were all cloying and verging on undrinkable. The most popular beer brewed here appears to be a green concoction infused with the health-food supplement spirulina. Yuck. Prices are expensive for the standard on offer: $S10 for a pint. The table service was dreadful, even by Singapore’s hit-and-miss standards. It took 35 minutes and three attempts for our waiter to get four drinks right. Food courses arrived haphazardly and effectively we all ate separately. No one appeared to give a toss.

a nice place to have a quiet beer before 6pm.. pity they dont carry craft beers, only their own brews. could do with better range.
