The good: great big wooden beam and high-peak ceilings, beautiful copper tuns and brewing action just behind the bar. Felt like a lodge. Surprisingly broad menu including seafood. Oysters Rockefeller was delish’. The bad: men’s room was almost as warm as Winter Beer Festival outhouse. And only ice cold sink water (warm lodge so they must have paid the gas bill). Right-end of bar had a glass washer or garbage disposal that vibrated the whole bar at random intervals; ambiance death-knell. Regrettably this place is hours away and this was first time intentional visit en-route to sample beer. Easy fixes to bring ambiance out of the cellar. Or sit at a table and hope you don’t have to go to the bathroom and it’ll be pleasant.

Unfortunatly, the Redwood Lodge has been in steady decline for several years. This used to be a top notch restaurant/brewpub, but the beer/food quality has suffered while the prices keep going up - not a good combination. It would take a serious turn around to get me to go back after many disapointments.

Good food, nice atmosphere, staff nice, beer very good. if you are traveling by be sure to stop in. I am about an hour away and drive up for beers and dinner. Solid brewpub/restaurant.

Great food and service but on the pricey side.

Stopped in today for lunch. The restaurant itself is very nice, very rustic if you are into that type of thing. (very big, so it would be good for large parties). The service was really good, but I had to lower the score because no one seemed knowledgeable about the beer! The food was normal, nothing special. We ordered the Cream Stout and the Pale Ale, which were both very good. Also ordered a pint of Helles which was just Okay. Sampled the IPA, Brown, and Kolsch. It seemed that we picked the best beers for our first choices. Brought home a growler of the pale ale. If you are driving South on 1-75 you should stop in and have some beer. *Go to the B.A.S. meetings!!! they are a great deal, fun, and informative!

Northwoods lodge look and feel. Visible brewing vessels adds a nice touch. Service was decent. The selection, aside from their guest taps, are all house brews. Food was good, but expensive and portions were just okay. Good stop if your in the area.

Easy to find location off I-75 in shopping area. Large parking. Outdoor and indoor seating for food and beer. 20 % bar and 80 % food seating indoors. Bar and brewing back left of building. Friendly staff and quick to offer food and beer menu. Had the sampler set. Good to above average beer selection and quality. Had the Fish & Chips for dinner. Good portion and taste. Nice stop on the way north.

This brewpub/restaurant (largely a restaurant) is right off the highway, giving it a sort of strip mall vibe. There is inside and outside seating - I say outside and it was pretty nice (although the surrounding area, aka the highway, wasn’t too exciting). Interestingly, even though this place has a decent-sized beer selection and has some award-winning beers, we were not even given a beer menu when we sat down (just a food menu and a wine menu)! The entrees were fairly expensive ($15-17 I believe) but tasty. The beers themselves were not great, except for the Cream Stout and RIS. Overall, I had an enjoyable time here. As another rater mentioned, the beer prices were higher than most other Michigan brewpubs I visited.

I have been here several times.They have a large selection of brews from there own micro brewery. Large place with a cigar room. The restaurant has a large menu and the food is excellent. But you pay dearly for everything. Not a inexpensive place. Service is excellent. The only I don’t like is to listen to screaming brats while enjoying a good brew.At this writing I understand the ownership is going to change. As it is now, it is probably the best restaurant/pub in the area.
