Screams seafood and steakhouse till you walk in and you see the brew paraphernalia and tanks. Quite large and although a little lodge like, nice. Lots of beers to sample and service was pretty good. I enjoyed the food and the beer was hit or miss, but worth it for the hits. I would happily visit again.

Located near the flint airport and right by my hotel for the night I Had dinner here last night, big open log cabin feel. I sat at the bar. Sever ice was decent. Beers where about 12 on tap. Menu was large and had steaks, seafood, sushi, pasta, and pizza. I thought the prices on food was high, even more so when the $11 shrimp cocktail with "jumbo" shrimp, fresh cocktail sauce and old bay did not have any old bay and the shrimp normal sized with obvious jarred cocktail sauce. Overall, Iíd I go back if in the area which I hope to never be again.

Dropped in when we were in the area. Big, open lodge layout, but they did have a cozier bar in the corner. Also offered a wine bar. Sat in the bar and didnít try the food or even look at the menu; looked like a slightly upscale dinner venue. Beers were okay, but not exceptional. They served me a barrel-aged imperial stout in a short, cylinder shaped glass instead of a snifter. Thought that was pretty lame.

The good: great big wooden beam and high-peak ceilings, beautiful copper tuns and brewing action just behind the bar. Felt like a lodge. Surprisingly broad menu including seafood. Oysters Rockefeller was delishí.
The bad: menís room was almost as warm as Winter Beer Festival outhouse. And only ice cold sink water (warm lodge so they must have paid the gas bill). Right-end of bar had a glass washer or garbage disposal that vibrated the whole bar at random intervals; ambiance death-knell. Regrettably this place is hours away and this was first time intentional visit en-route to sample beer.
Easy fixes to bring ambiance out of the cellar. Or sit at a table and hope you donít have to go to the bathroom and itíll be pleasant.

Unfortunatly, the Redwood Lodge has been in steady decline for several years. This used to be a top notch restaurant/brewpub, but the beer/food quality has suffered while the prices keep going up - not a good combination. It would take a serious turn around to get me to go back after many disapointments.

Stopped in today for lunch. The restaurant itself is very nice, very rustic if you are into that type of thing. (very big, so it would be good for large parties). The service was really good, but I had to lower the score because no one seemed knowledgeable about the beer! The food was normal, nothing special. We ordered the Cream Stout and the Pale Ale, which were both very good. Also ordered a pint of Helles which was just Okay. Sampled the IPA, Brown, and Kolsch. It seemed that we picked the best beers for our first choices. Brought home a growler of the pale ale. If you are driving South on 1-75 you should stop in and have some beer.
*Go to the B.A.S. meetings!!! they are a great deal, fun, and informative!

Northwoods lodge look and feel. Visible brewing vessels adds a nice touch. Service was decent. The selection, aside from their guest taps, are all house brews. Food was good, but expensive and portions were just okay. Good stop if your in the area.
