This is, perhaps, my new favourite beer bar in Minneapolis. The atmosphere is really cool, old, classy. Loads of great taps. Very knowledgable, friendly and generous staff. This is definitely a place Iíll go back to whenever Iím in Minneapolis. Ranks with Happy Gnome as the best in the Twin Cities. (This place is smaller and less of a restaurant than Happy Gnome).

I enjoyed the food and the beer, but I really liked the well worn interior of this place. The outside seating in front of the Republic was very lively. Definitely worth a detour
Iíve been coming here for a long time (since they opened 4 or 5 years ago), but never rated the place. Superb tap list (100). Nice deal on flights (4 6oz pours for $12) and the best happy hour in the Twin Cities ($2 off all beers from 4-6pm, every day). Food is a little pricy, but quite good. Huge patio for 6 months of the year when it is not fucking cold here. Right across the street from Town Hall - make sure to hit both if you are visiting!

Now there are 104 Taps. Best tap selection in terms of quantity in the area. Food is quite good as well. Really a great bar.
Right across from the Town Hall so figured I would poke my head in. A nice selection of local taps. A large bar with a nice feel to it and plenty of seating on my visit. Bartender was great and gave me a sample of a few things before I made my purchase. Didnít sample the food on my visit. Prices seemed a touch steep, but nothing out of step. A nice stop especially considering the location.
They do flights, food is ridiculously good (quinoa mushroom burger was absurd). They do house-made ketchup thatís really really good. Plus their guacamole is ridiculous. Add to that, a well-laid out beer menu, and something like 50-100 taps and youíre talking about a good place. A+.
The beer selection here is pretty good and offers a variety of styles. Sometimes lacks some of the tried and true beers I like to see, but still very good. The food here is just amazing. It would be hard to turn down anything on their menu. Burgers are top notch. However, the price is high. $8 for a 4" round smaller patty, comes with salad, fries are extra. Not something I would pay every day. Much better deal on Happy Hour ($5 burger). Well worth it then. Well improved interior since it was Sgt. Prestonís a year ago. Really like this place.
Very nice bar, well designed interior and patio space at the front. Large and nicely varied beer selection, flights available. Food cheap and tasty. Service friendly. I visited Sunday night so it was quiet, but all in a pretty awesome beer drinking venue!
Dark place, nice ambiance. I had just eaten but the menu looked solid. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Large draft list with lots of local and non-local options, and some rarities. Decent prices. Definitely a worthwhile stop.
An excellent craft beer destination with interesting and varied gastropub food offerings.
Long bar with a multitude of tap handles. Very nice wood and brick interior with lots of beautiful stained glass panels. Outstanding variety of beers and ciders, with many world class (e.g., St. Bernardus ABT 12; Triple Karmeliet; La Trappe Quad) and limited beers on tap. A fairly up to date lists of taps is available on their website. Flights available.
