Nice facility and usually a couple good choices on tap. Not as impressed with the vibe of the place. Pretty uptight. Maybe the Wine Store roots have kept this place from relaxing into a place where folks feel welcome.

Located in the same shopping center as a whole foods, this is the place you should hit first. They may only have 150-160 bottles but the selection is very editorial. I didnít expect to find for example Evil Twin Spicy Nachos. They also have 16 taps of equal quality. And the prices were fantastic. Easily the lowest Iíve seen in Carolina.

AMBIANCE - A little on the trendy side, with really grating smooth lounge/electro music. Beautiful interior though, and so so clean. SERVICE - I was only there for a bit, but they were nice and knowledgeable. Maintaining that tap list is a service unto itself. SELECTION - Not that large, and fairly predictable, but well-chosen for sure. Not especially heavy on locals. Plenty of Evil Twin stuff if youíre into it. I am. VALUE - I shop at a lot of stores in the state, and the prices here are about $1 cheaper across the board. OVERALL - This place falls in the second tier of Triangle beer stores, but among the best tap lists in the state. Surely worth a stop just for draft alone, and any other goodies are a well-priced bonus.

This store has 16 taps and one of the best draft line ups in the triangle and in NC. Plenty of seating in the spacious store. 2 HDTVís as well. Their prices are the lowest around even compared to whole foods next door or other beer shops in the area including total wine. They are generally $1-3 cheaper than every other store. Anyone who shops for beer in the triangle will recognize their low bottle prices and draft prices. Most drafts are $3-$8 and they are all poured in the same sized tulip glass. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable. Ridgewood is great beer shop in the triangle and I would recommend anyone to check it out.

I stopped by here today to check this place out. And after about two minutes in the store, I walked back out. There was a very small selection of beer at this place. What they did have there was relatively common and can be found at a number of other beer stores around town. The beer was overpriced - I can find it much cheaper in many places. And anything in a 12oz bottle was sold only in 6-packs. And since I couldnít buy any singles I might have been interested in, I walked out.

The place formerly known as the Wine Merchant. Ryan and co. made some really nice upgrades to this place around the New Year, most obviously with some lovely flooring. Expanded (and regularly changing) tap offerings, and a considerably expanded beer selection (although they still do it right on the wine end of things). Locals, US craft, and Belgian/Scando imports very well represented. Terrific service as usual.
