Since the takeover by Young’s this pub is no longer worth the effort to find. All the interesting beers have gone to be replaced by national ’blands’. Shame really that Youngs used the proceeds of the brewery sale to fund the demise of a once enjoyable pub.

This once great independent establishment is now owned by a pub chain. There is a restricted choice of bland beer from one source. However toilets are good ,so apparently is food -all served in a tropical bland atmospere.

Pilgrim beers are not the reason to come here--they have them, but they're not that good. But there is so much choice. For example, the day I was there they had La Chouffe on tap--supposedly the first UK pub to have this. There was also a couple of other interesting UK micros, and more. The clientele at lunch draws on a middle class business sort--salespeople--and it was friendly and lively. An art college is just around the corner. The food is definitely homemade and very good. The pub itself is nondescript but comfortable enough. If you're in Epsom for the races, I would wholly recommend stopping.
