Ambiance is a bit upscale casual brewpub, nice large eating area and big accomidating bar. Service is good, but not very knowledgable. Food is pretty good, but a bit on the expensive side. Beers or price fairly. Overall, a typical rock bottom, but not one of the better ones.

I usually don’t care for the chain restaurant and brew pubs, but this place I would say is a little above average. I’ve enjoyed the beers, above average. Again their menu is typical of chain restaurant, but overall a place worth stopping every now and them. They really do nothing to keep you as a continuous customer.

A chain brewpub, to be sure, but the staff was friendly and attentive during a mid-afternoon visit. The beers were solid but not spectacular, and the food was on par with other Rock Bottoms I’ve visited. Great location if you’re in a shopping mood, with movie theater and B&N nearby. Parking is plentiful.

The atmosphere is decent and it is definitely in a good location. The selection is small, but the beer itself is pretty good. We didn’t have complaints about the service or food, but there’s nothing special with either of them. Overall this is an average to above average place - a nice change of pace, but not something to make the usual spot.

I’ve visited this Rock Bottom franchise on several occasions, and have yet to be truely disappointed or wowed beyond belief. It is convenient to get to from most parts of the Pittsburgh metro area, and is built in a soulless but accomodating big-box style that allows for little, if any, wait time to be served in either the bar or dining areas. The food is decent for a national middle price range chain; nothing terrible or spectacular, but everything competently prepared. The beer selection includes four selections that are constant, with two or three that rotate about once a month. The regular offerings appear to be the same at every Rock Bottom, and are generally unexciting versions of unspectacular styles (English Pale, English Brown, Light Lager, American Wheat). The rotating taps are often quite good (American IPA & Imperial Stout), but can also seem to have been developed and brewed in a passionless manner. If one is in the mug club, he or she gets larger beers for the regular price. Both food and drink are fairly priced. Overall, not the best drinking experience available in the area, but far better than the usual restaurants.

Decent place. Generally crowded. Large open area. A bit corporate. 8 taps - 4 of them seasonals. The regulars are fairly blah but some of the seasonals are quite nice. Basic food with a southwestern flair. Beer prices are good. Food prices about average. Service is average. Knowledge of the product is a bit lacking. A nice place to hit up once in a while but not worth really seeking out.

Decent ’chain’ brewhouse. The brew can be average much of the time. But there is plenty for my ’non beer drinking’ wife so it is a good compromise. Easy to get to and makes a nice evening out.

Clean, new, lots of seats, good parking. In the midst of a bunch of other restaurants in a mall/redevelopment area. Beer is predictable, not as good as Rock Bottom Chicago or the Cleveland Chop House in the same chain. Food is filling, but generally underwhelming. The feta/artichoke/olive pizza is pretty good. Ambiance is not as good as Chicago, better than Cleveland.

Decent chain brew pub. Food is pretty good too. Definitely a nice feature of the Waterfront in Pittsburgh.

This is a very friendly place. However, getting to this place the traffic is terrible. On this day the squirrel hill tunnels were closed. They always have a nice written description of the beers available here. My server, Bob # 04485 was very helpful and knowledgeable about beer styles. This place had a good spectrum of beer styles available. Bob knew about all the brewpubs around western PA. Nice beer glass and mug cooler built right into the bar. The bar itself was very unique and attractive, some sort of ball peen copper sheet encased in epoxy! The brew tanks were directly behind the bar and easily viewable, how interesting. Beautiful ambiance. Nice variation on eye candy. Easy to feel comfy around here, once you get here. My bartender was one of the most helpful I have seen around Pittsburgh. If you are new to tasting beer styles, try this place out, you’ll appreciate it. I did not have any food to eat so I couldn’t rate it.
