Popular and cheap with extra space upstairs with a roof garden. Food cheap and cheerful. JDW - a branch of social services. So diplomacy may be the better part of valour in dealing with your neighbour. But that can be true everywhere.

Visited october 2014, with beery friends. Great atmosphere, think it also was a pub before JDW took over. This was a great breakfast pub, close to where we stayed, and on the way to the beer festival. They have a house beer, and a good range of locals. Beers was served in good condition. Worth a visit..

An unusual Wetherspoons as it looks to have been a pub in its previous life rather than the Spoons conversion norm. Consequently it has a more pubby feel than the average Wetherspoons. Beer range was solid with a fair few new beers for me, includng a house beer from Magpie. Definitely one of the better Wetherspoons.

A decent selection of local beers can be found in this spacious and airy pub. They had beers from Funfair and Magpie on when I visited in May 2014.

In a lovely period brick building down a small alleyway road off the western side of the Market Square, this building has been made into a large open plan pub over two levels. The upstairs area is fairly small but you can look down on the service area below which is towards the rear of the building, but this is also the place to access the rare roof terrace available for customers that you donít often associate with this chain. The interior is traditional in style and traditionally styled for a Wetherspoon pub. Iíve been here a couple of times and at the weekend it is heaving.

One of the better Wetherspoonís, with a nice comfortable, relaxed ambience.
Unusually for a Wetherspoonís the Roebuck looks as if itís always been a pub, and one with a handsome Georgian exterior at that. The bar area is light and airy with a large glass skylight and several rooms off to the side. Upstairs thereís more seating and a small but pleasant roof terrace.
There are 15 taps, with a good beer range that included two ciders. All the beer we had was in good condition and the staff were efficient and attentive. There are few Wetherspoonís pubs Iíve been to more than once but this one was worth a return visit for breakfast.
(Last visited 9 October 2014).

The selection of beers here is usually pretty good, often with more than one from the Nottingham Brewery, and generally in good condition. The atmosphere is better than most Wetherspoons and all in all it’s much more pleasant than the Joseph Else on the Old Market Square.

This is the most stylish JDW Iíve come across to date. The location is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and there is a good selection of predominantly local ales. I wish all JDWs were like this.

A JD Wetherspoon that is very conveniently located, right by The Bell and the townís main square. Obviously the whole decorum is a bit bland, but the beer selection is quite respectable, with 4 beers from Nottingham brewery on and 2 other cask ales. Very large place and quite clean with a dynamic and proactive staff when I was there.

Visited here just before Christmas 2006 in the company of haddonsman and a friend of mine who was over on a visit from the USA.
We went for the draft Belgian beer which I think must have been one of the De Konincks you see in Spoons outlets from time to time. Pretty ambient compared to most of the Wetherspoons Iíve been to so itís worth a look in if youíre in town.
