Nice local neighbourhood bar feel. Plnety of space late Tues arvo which was great for the kids to spread out. Miles away from the uber cool of Mikkeller but I’ll take this any day of the week. 29 Rogue beers and 7 guests on tap. Typical bar menu which I thought was well priced.
Great ambiance, love the back patio. Service was nothing amazing. Selection is great, all you can want from Rogue and then some. Value was horrible, twice the price for pints and the publik house in Portland. Also, no tasters the day we were there. Overall, one of the better beer places we found in San Fran, but not great.
Solid Rogue bar that we only stopped at by chance because it was open on Xmas Day. Good selection of Rogue beers, and equally as many guest beers, but they are nothing special. Prices are okay and service is very attentive. Really nice interior ambience. Wouldn’t really recommend it for the beer, but if you’re staying in the area, it’s an obvious choice.
Liked the rooms better than the beers, which I find a bit dull. Friendly service, but maybe a bit high prices. Nice food too. You can buy merchandise, and bottles to go as well. Not only Rogue beers, but also some other nice brews. Well worth a visit.
Late evening on Sunday 3rd Feb 2013: the 49ers had earlier blown the Super Bowl and this place was subdued and fairly quiet apart from one table full of collage kids who had to shout because they appeared too pissed to talk.
The joint is basic and wooden: as are the pieces of furniture. Chalk Board high up behind the bar tells you what’s on: when I asked for a ZIA Fireside Chat I got blank looks, my eye sight is so bad and the writer of the chalk board so crap it had 21A (as in 21st Amendment) looking like ZIA: oh how we laughed. The staff loved me, even got some free crisps, or whatever Americans call them. Anyway my wife and I shared 6 different beers and had a very pleasant stay, chairs could have done with some cushions though.
We stopped in for a few beers around around noon on a Saturday. It’s near the tourist attractions (Pier 39, etc), which was reflected in the prices but the service was great. They had at least 38 taps of Rogue, Anchor, a few ciders and a couple other random breweries. They had anything you were looking for. We only had an appetizer, the Blue Balls, and they were great. Definitely a great place to take a break from the sightseeing and relax.
