The brief year I lived in newport was spent mostly drinking here. I miss this place so much! Huge selection of beers on tap, lots of locals and lots of attitude. Ice in the urinals! Smoking indoors was still permitted when i was there which was hip... being from california and a smoker i dug it. I even got a free half yard and t-shirt for my birthday! what a great great place i hope to return to someday!

LONG LIVE THE ROGUE NATION! This place is right in the little shopping district on the other side of the bay from the brewery. Great view of the big bridge parallel to the Ocean. Little store to buy beer in the bottle as you walk in. Amazing hospitality. Absolutly genuine people. The Public House in Newport has been one of my favorite places to stay while on vacation in Oregon. When in Newport you must stop here. Good pizza. Great Kobe burger w/ Bleu and a Santa’s Private... Great taste of America!!! Plan to stay all day with the awesome locals. Charlie, Chris, Jim were all great. Thanks again, and see you all soon!!!! Once again John C. Maier is an Artisan Brewmaster of the World. Thank you John!! Prost

Nice location. Stayed upstairs and had a blast. Rooms are comfortable and loaded with most of the stuff you’ll need while there. The pub downstairs in tons of fun. Nice selection of guest taps to go along with the usual Rouge lineup. The staff are great. We hung out, talked beer with Charlie, played some fooseball and then went upstairs for some more beer tasting. Hell, they even let the dogs stay, too!!

Ok wife took me put to the coast for a night out. Stayed in the Hallmark Hotel but soon found my way down to the Bayside. Newport’s old harbour is a very scenic but still working fishing port and at the south end of the harbour lies Rogues Pub . Its in a smalrt ol d building and all very bright and clean..but despite it being bright the atmosphere is very nice indeed ,very welcoming and comfortable. The quality of the beers on offer were as always fantastic, the quality of the staff likewise. Great service from the barman ( we sat at the bar)..very proffesional yet extra friendly. The selection was out of this world i counted 36 taps when i gave up..its around that number, but I was a bit tipsy so after 5 attempts I settled for 36. Most of the Rogue special editions as well as the old favourites plus many other great beers from other breweries. I saw McChouffe, Sasquatch Barleywine, Alaskan Smoked ..Lindemans framboise..and many more i cant recall today. Great pub style food at a reasonable prices. This is a wonderful example of a pub, great staff, great beer and some wonderful old local gentlemen who I had a couple of hours of great conversation.

Came with the family after touring the bayfront for a little lunch. There was a lego table for the kiddos which kept them entertained and well behaved. My wife & I actually had a meal just the two of us. The main dining area is attached to a sports bar type room so I could peak in and see how the Ducks were doing. A very extensive beer list and we got a sample of the Crab Porter in honor of Newport’s seafood festival. Food is above average pub fare. The only complaint was that they were out of growlers.

If you are looking for food first and beer second then stop here. For more beer go over the bridge. Either way commit some time for this stop.

Newport is the Rogue Nation’s capital city. It’s a pilgrimage for NW ale lovers, in my opinion. This is Rogue’s home station, so to say that the beer is great would be redundant. Tons of great Rogue ales on tap in both Newport locations. I don’t understand the other reviewer’s comment about it being cramped. I can imagine it being crowded, but the place is quite spacious. I am talking about the Public House, not Brewers on the Bay (across the bay in the actual brewery). Either way, both places are great. The staff is way friendly and made us feel very welcome. There is a vibe around the “Rogue thing” that I absolutely love and nowhere is it stronger than Newport. We stayed three nights upstairs in the Bed and Beer. The apartment wasn’t fancy, but it had everything we needed, was clean enough, and it is right up the stairs from the Public House. Can’t beat that. One last thing, light beer drinkers be warned. When someone orders a Coors Light (the only non-Rogue tap), the bartender rings a bell and the whole place shouts out, “Clear Beer!”

Nice well lit pub. Large selection of Rogue beer and a 8 beer guest tap. Food is excellent and moderately priced. Nice location on the bayfront and there is a parking lot next door.

A really nice rogue pub, friendly atmosphere and a damn good selection of brews, probably about 24 rogue brews and 8 guest taps, including some la choufe. Charlie the bartender was really nice, answered all sorts of questions I had about rogue and gave me a free pint of the old fifteenth anniversary that they were taking off tap.
