Best bar in Milwaukee!!! No ball wash or bullsh*t here!!

If visiting from out-of-state this should be your first stop. Nice comfortable pub feel. Love the beer garden. Only domestic craft beers and quality imports. Always an impressive tap list. When you are there you know everyone else around you is like-minded in their enjoyment of good beer. Love that they have TVs so you can enjoy a game and still drink a decent beer. Wish I lived closer to it but lucky I do not, as I would spend all my time and money here.

Certainly worthy of the Top 100 beer bars as rated in Draft Magazine. Mike’s a straight shooter and very knowledgeable. This will be a regular stop when I’m in Milwaukee.

No nonsense pub with a plain black and white board scribed with 30 or so amazing beers that are on tap. Great rotating selection. Facebook updates when new beers are tapped. I drive 45 minutes to go to this place. Love it.

Romans has become my local haunt over the past year. I used to frequent Sugar Maple much more often (I still go there occasionally), but now am a regular at Romans. He has about 30 beers on draft and takes care of his beers meticulously (he talks about his glycol cooled taps). You always get proper glassware. The patrons are generally very friendly and all walks of life. It seems many of them are regulars and Mike knows by name. Mike love his bar and his beers, and does not really have a "filter" so people who don’t know him well can sometimes be put off. Some customers may not get the humor in the "No Spotted Cow, not now, not ever" sign. He is genuinely a nice guy and hilarious though. He gets some very limited kegs and knows the players in the Midwest craft brewing scene (he’s been doing this for decades). All in all, a must visit if you’re in town.

Very nice draft selection. You can tell the owner likes really good beer. They get some unique barrels. You won’t find anything to satisfy your typical BMC drinker. The atmosphere is a typical corner bar. They do have some booth seating and a back room. If you like good beer and live in or visit Milwaukee you must stop here.

Roman’s is without a doubt, the best place to drink in Milwaukee. The selection is out of this world. Where else in the Midwest can you get Russian River? The owner, Mike, is an encyclopedia of beer knowledge, and he has a great relationship with brewers and distributors. He provides great service, a stellar menu, and a killer cellar. I love this place.

Love this place - awesome neighborhood corner bar that happens to do the hell outta craft beers. Around 30 taps, and all of it is the good stuff. Knowledgable and friendly bartender (Mike - I think he owns the place). Terrific joint.

Went back here yesterday and luckily the owner, Mike, was bartending. Not only did we get rare treats such as Sierra Nevada Juniper Black Ale, but we got to enjoy a good measure of Milwaukee humor - dry, biting, and loads of fun. They have a nice beer garden that complments the coziness of the pub itself. Mike is the quintessential beer pub owner: knows his beers inside and out, the intricacies of the biz, how to be a first rate bartender and to tie it all together. A real fun place to go to. Already looking forward to a return.
