One of my favourite beergarten surrounded by trees and . Only locals (like all beergarden in the area) and lots of kids while we were there on a sunny sunday. One of the best Keller and the best. Also, the best pretzel and Radler Iíve had in Germany, for what itís worth. This is the spot I would go back every weekend if I lived in Germany.

Visited after Kreuzberg, this place is in the same small woods only at the bottom of the hill. When coming throught the village you will see that it is deserted. You will also pass the brewery, which looks closed but then as soon as you start peering into the trees, you will see hundreds of people sitting outside enjoying a kellerbier while their kids play in the park. Self service as usual with the places, the beer is a really really solid one, one of my favorites - even the radler was quite good. The food looked decent as well. Really nice keller, would love to return.

Visited July 2013. Pleasant place in the woods not far from the brewery. There is a large playground for kids. The keller bier was malty yet dry and very good. The food was of large portions and very good. The fellow at the self-serve beer window was less than helpful. Well worth a visit.

Lovely forest place with excellent beer. Supposedly, too big to be authentic, but itís a nice place full of locals, in all kinds of groups. Nice shade under big trees. Self service, but how do you rate that when itís age old tradition?

Out in the woods with a big beer garden plus an area with roll-out shades. Thereís also a great playground for the kids, and friendly locals (more so if you speak German!). Both food and beer are bar service, as usual with country Kellers it seems. Both the delicious Kellerbier and the so-so Weiss on offer, food was pretty big portions and good quality. Lovely place.

Last Fall I paid a visit to the brewery and the kellerbier blew me away. Back again this Spring and the bierkeller is open instead, and the beer is just as good. On this trip it was matched only by Witgzall in itís hoppiness and drinkability. So, one of the best kellerbiers around, and also a superb weissebier in bottles (and Kellerbier in bottles to-go). The atmosphere is calm, youíre surrounded by trees and songbirds, and it wasnít crowed both times we visited. This should be a place every person stops while in the valley.

Came here through the forest, a muddy but charming trail down the hill from the Kreuzberg. Huge choice of tables with both full sun and full shade. Both the Kellerbier and Weissbier available, and both excellent quality. The food that was available was just cold cuts, cheese, and bread, which was only edible, nothing more...they apparently do warm food too, but for whatever reason they "ran out" (wasnít terribly late nor terribly crowded, but oh well).

Visited on the afternoon of 16/07/2012. Excellent keller serving a wonderfully hoppy, well priced kellerbier in lovely rural surroundings. The path down from the Kreuzberg was easy to follow but not one I would like to attempt in the dark. The garden was busy for a Monday afternoon, but service was efficient. A great beer destination.

Cozy on the bottom of the Kreuzberg Killers. Warning: If itís dark and you are walking be carefull. Easy to get lost. My brother and I ended up in Schnaid 3KM away while walking from the last Kreuzberg keller to here. However - the Kellerbier from tap is awesome (and cheap). Had 2 Mass and loved them so much I had to get a Roppelt Krug . .

I bike the 26 km there as often as I can in summer. Franzís unfiltered Kellerbier is served like Real Lager, I suppose: unfiltered and without CO2 from a 1000L bag inside a tank which is then squeezed by compressed air to push the beer to the tap. Some complain about the place having become too large, modern and successful, and that thereís too much excellent food for a traditional Bierkeller, but I donít care. 3,50 Ä for a liter of hoppy, malty nectar. A wonderful family operation. One point off for the late opening on Wed & Thu (they do deserve some time off though), the other point off for the beautiful old trees that had to be felled a couple of years ago.
