This is a gas station that just happens to have an enormous selection of beer from around the world. Belgium, Sotland, England, Germany are well represented, plus a lot of regional stuff. One of the best Belgian selections I’ve seen outside Belgium. A must stop while in KC.

Great selection for the shelf size they have. If you have questions, make sure the beer manager, Chris, helps you out. Service is a 10 when he is involved, about a 2 otherwise. In addition to really knowing his stuff, he is a genuinely nice guy and very passionate about beer. Would score higher if it wasn’t in a gas station, but wadda ya goin do.
82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
Watt’s Mill location - was here a couple years back but didn’t get my rating entered. Kind of a serve-yourself store, but a nice selection, including quite a few that I couldn’t get in Minnesota. Left with a trunk full of beer - what’s new.
Kind of a dirt ball joint with a bunch of dirt balls buying Busch Light constantly but the beer selection is unparalleled in KC. Several hundred bottles including a ton of imports. A lot of beer rotting here, so a little caution is needed. One of the best stops for bottles in KC.

This is my go-to liquor store in the Kansas City area (although it helps that it is only 0.5 mile from my work). When you walk in, the store looks like your average mid-sized liquor store, but the beer selection is on par with the best liquor stores in the metro area. Brad is always at the store to let you know what new beers are in and always willing to help out and give recommendations.
First ever visit this week. Was impressed by the European selection. Beer section spread out and the store ( it is also a convenience store) gets very busy. Does seem that they keep rarer beers under the counter or in the back room. Worth a visit for sure.
Blow’s the socks off Gomer’s mid-town in terms of selection. Also, unlike Gomer’s, has a mix-a-six section. That section is about the only place in the store to get American micros in single bottles, but at least they have it. I picked up quite a few individual bottles of Schlafly that way. Other random brewers they had available: Otter Creek/Wolaver’s, Berghoff, Pyramid, HeBrew, Rogue, Unibroue, Rochefort, Ommegang, Duvel, Czechvar, Tripel Karmeleit, Baltika, etc. There’s a lot of stuff here. Recommended.
One of the 2 best stores in KC (Lukas Martin City is the other). However, this may be the direst good store I have ever been too. The employs look like punk rockers in need of work (not much use in helping you). They get all the good beer, have good prices and sometimes nice sales. Have a very good port selection as well and nice discounts on wine sometimes. They do tastings but I have never been. Some of the really good beers get hidden behind the counter but I never know when to ask.

Stopped in again. The selection is improving and getting cleaner. The prices still seem a little high. A good store. Stopped in here recently and I was able to get a lot of new brews. However, I was hacked off because most of the new brews I bought, I could have purchased at Lukas for $1-2 less each. Good selection for KC, lots of the beer is exposed to light from the windows. Lots of stuff is in the coolers. Worth a visit, but I will hit Lukas first next time to save some money.

Thanks to Tim (theisti) for not only recommending this place, but also for showing up to assist me in my beer purchases and giving me a Peche Mortel! Thanks, man! Awesome selection probably second only to Goebel’s in Wichita as far as variety. I’m sure there are better beer stores out there, but so far these two rank supreme in my book. Tons of singles (ALWAYS a bonus for a beer geek like me), and great deals on mixer-sixers. Beer selection ranges from local micros to Belgium brews to beers from Malta. I will definitely make this a must-stop every time I’m in Kansas City.
