Brilliant traditional corner pub located in Borough. Well kept Harveys on cask and in bottle make up the main selection with a couple of guest ales also available. Interior is traditional and quirky (i.e. jars of jam and VHS tapes are available for sale). No music, but a friendly atmosphere permeates. Food is traditional, yet interesting and tasty. I went for the smoked ham hock hotpot and was not disappointed. Friendly staff. For those looking for the traditional London pub experience this is a must-visit.

Very nice Harveys’ beers, all on cask.Worth a visit just for that. Place is very pretty, all in wood. No music can make an awkward ambiance though. Service is adequate but young waiters don’t know much about beer in general.

When we arrived at this classic street corner pub late on a Sunday afternoon, the guests had, in fact, drunk up all the cask ales, and the owner was about to close the pub. I asked for bottle beers, and he kindly showed me quite a good selection of Harveys beers hidden behind the counter. On previous visits to The Royal Oak I have never been aware of the bottle selection. We bought and drank a few bottles and enjoyed the atmosphere of this down to earth, traditional English pub. Hope it survives and that this not was our last visit to one of our favourite pubs in London (last visit 03.10.2010).

I searched out this place especially because of previous good experiences with Harveys beers, but was pretty underwhelmed with what I ended up with. The bitter reeked of sulfur, for instance. It’s a nice enough bar with a neighbourhood feel despite being very central. Lovely folks who run the place. Middle aged men sit at the bar engaging in incredibly inane conversation. Not bad by any stretch, but I wouldn’t rush back for either the beer or the atmosphere based on my experience.

Walking distance from Borough and London Bridge. Nice old style traditional pub. 7 or 8 real ale hand pumps (4 darker beers). I had their Mild, Old Ale and Brown Ale. Also Fuller´s London Porter on cask as a guest ale when I visited. Decent bangers and mash.

Wonderful pub handy for London Bridge Station and Borough tube. Harvey’s beers kept to perfection and one of the few London pubs with mild always available. Food is good honest grub with huge portion size. No music or other distractions a great place to meet up and talk with good beer guaranteed.

Harvey’s pub run very nicely, beer is good quality but if you’re looking for choice try somewhere else. Not a Harveys fan but had heard, quite rightly, good things about this pub. The Sunday roast is excellent and I had a very good pint of mild whilst in there.

A great little old pub with Harveys ale available from the cask. Very vibrant place and had a great night here chatting with the locals. The staff are friendly and there are some interesting characters who hang out here. A must visit in London.
