Really great brewpub overall. Great selection, great food and great beer, of course! This place was packed on a Friday afternoon with mostly locals and a few out of towners like us. Very good time.

Best place in the world to grab a beer. Doesnít have the ambiance of Stone, but has the best beers, best flights, and great food. This bar is a dream.

Absolutely packed on a Wednesday afternoon. Still was able to acquire a table for two within a ten minute window. Long bar. A few adjoining rooms and a small outside area. People taking advantage of the incredible weather. Huge sampler available. Tried everything I hadnít had before. Impeccable selection and the quality is unparalleled. Food was average at best. Canít imagine going for an event like Younger. Has to be a madhouse. Quaint. Definitely stop by while in Napa or the surrounding area...you wonít be sorry!

Popped in for some beers on my way from SF to Crater Lake. Incredibly busy considering the hour but you wonít find a better selection of Russian River beers, especially for this price.

I arrived here an hour before opening during the Pliney the Younger week. It took about 2 hours to get in, which I heard is not bad at all, and another hour to get a table. After we were seated this place was amazing. Great wait staff considering how crowded it was, and a huge selection of beer on tap. The food was also good although not why you would come here. If you donít mind waiting then this place is great, but you will have to wait.

Let me say this first. The beer is excellent. This review is not about the beer. This review is about the place. The pub is always packed to the gills and the bar is two deep. The way the pub is laid out the main thoroughfare is where the bar is and there are table about 7 across from it. So if you canít get a stool, which is most often the case, then you are stuck standing in the thoroughfare getting bumped into by drunk tourists that spill your Pliny. If you want a table itís at least half an hour wait because they donít take reservations. Iíve actually have employees their recommend I go to the bar on the corner and they will text me when the table is ready. Then thereís the staff. Thereís one guy that works there that is very friendly and cool. The rest of them act like you arenít there. They never seem to have enough staff to serve people in an acceptable amount of time. Itís usually at least a 15 minute wait to get a beer at that place. I can understand from the bartendersí perspective that they are way overworked and understaffed, but a smile goes a long way. Plus Iíve been going their for 10 years and most of the long time bartenders still donít recognize me when I go in there. Again, great, great beer. Lousy, lousy service. Every time I visit this place I feel like Iím in Napa.

Stopped in while doings Napa Valley visit with the wife. Older looking place in downtown Santa Rosa, could use some sprucing up on the outside. Inside was neat, we sat at a table rather than the bar. For the full menu sampler, so 17 beers today, only 3 of which I had before. Was excited to finally try Consecration and Supplication, but was hoping to see Temptation which wasnít around. Beers were good and I got some bottles of Pliny, Blond Pig, Consecration, and Supication to take home. They also had their imperial porter bottles for sale but didnít get any. Good was decent, wife had a salad and I had some beer bites. Prices were reasonable at $16 for 17 2oz samplers. Overall I was slightly dissapointed but it was great to visit. Really, how many variations of a golden ale and an IPA can they have on the menu at once? Otherwise obviously worth stopping in given its reputation.

Visited on a Monday in February 2014. We waited 6,5 hours to get in, yes it was during the Pliny the Younger "madness".
The place was crowded but stil with a nice and quick service. We had to wait around one hour to get a table. The pizza was nice but the best thing was the beer flight with all the beers that were on tap during our visit. I tried 17 new beers from Russian River plus some ones that I had tried before. Really great value, both in the bar and bottles to go. A Pliny The Elder cost 5.25$ to go.
Pliny the Younger was a very tasty one but my favourite was Beatification, what a beer!
I also liked the range of different T-shirts, Hats etcetera that one could buy.
Would love to visit this place again during a normal day/evening.

I and my brother waited for 7 hours to get in the bar (it was pliney the younger release!), was it worth the wait? Yes and no, glad I did it and never do it again! Inside it was more of a beer drinking hotspot with lots of drunk people having fun, not the typical classy mellow vibe at most breweries. Had lots of fun though, awesome selection, prices were way cheap for the quality you get. Sampler tray will get you drunk, like 15 beers on their sampler. Had lots of fun with very interesting yet friendly people. Would definitely go again, just not on pliney the younger days!

Came here for Pliny the Younger yesterday. After waiting in line for seven hours, the beer here sure tasted delicious. The place was packed to the gills, making it extremely hard to order beer, rate or do anything, really. It took quite awhile to get our beers and food, which is understandable considering how many people were here. Once we got a table, it was much better. Our server was great, making sure we had all the beer we wanted. The ambience was typical brewpub. The value was great. For beers of this caliber and reputation, it was downright cheap. Iíd like to come here on a regular night and see what itís like.
