Stopped by after a long weekend trip snowboarding at Lake Tahoe. I was so excited to visit this place and it pretty much lived up to the hype. We got there right around 11:30am on a Sunday and the place was already busy. The bartender recommended that we order our food fast or else weíd have to wait forever, so we did, and he was right. The calzone was fucking phenomenal. And the place got crowded. Fast. The bar staff guys are very quick and efficient, but for how far we drove I wish we could have talked to some bartenders to build up an experience. To drink, I ordered a sample of every beer they had on tap.A great tap list, but the beers featured on tap that you canít get in bottles were just mediocre (except for Noble Experiment). I wish I could find some white whales here that I canít find anywhere in San Diego.

I must say this is a nice little place to eat and have a drink. Itís pretty small and in a really nice town. I have to say the food was really good and the beer selection of course was fantastic. I wish this place was closer to me.

I know everyone loves their beers, hell, so do I. this is a nice place to visit, but would I say that Russian Riverís beers are going to make up for the place itself? Certainly not. I absolutely love Russian River beers. In fact, there were many non-bottled selections available here to try (none of which were spectacular, in my opinion). There were so many different ways to order beer e.g. half pints, 2 oz. tasters, growlers, pints etc. Service at the bar was great. Originally, my brother and I sat at a table and the woman took for fucking ever to serve us, so we went to the bar where we were served immediately. Bartenders were cool, and prompt. The food was pretty damn good as well. Santa Rosa was a small town, but fairly nice. Overall, extremely happy to have visited, but unless they throw a ton of new taps up, I wouldnít go back if I visited California.

Had a great time. Left all my wine drinking friends in Napa and drove up to check it out. It was worth the trip. Loved the Damnation.

90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20
I arrived around 9:30 on a Friday night since I had to drive from my grandmotherís in San Leandro where I was staying for the weekend, so I was expecting it would be quite busy...it was.
I should say that being from So. Cal and making a trip to Stone every few months, Iím much more used to the upper-scale atmosphere of their brewery and bistro. But Russian River is much more of a regular bar/pub.
My girlfriend and I stood and had a drink (I had a Sanctification) while we looked for a table or some bar stools to open up. We finally were able to get a table around 10 and ordered the Nu Deal pizza. It was one of the better pizzas Iíve had, and it was a lot more than I was expecting. I ordered a Consecration, but the keg was nearing empty so I only got half a glass--the bartender didnít charge me for it and I got to try this excellent beverage. Pretty nice of him. I also had a pint of Hop2It.
The service was pretty good. They were attentive but not always in your face. Again, more than I was expecting considering the general atmosphere.
The prices are quite reasonable as well, especially considering the quality of the beer that youíre getting. The growler fill (2 liter) was only $14 for Blind Pig.
My only gripes would be that they were tapped out of Consecration (so I only got that half-glass) and they were out of Blind Pig bottles. And they do have a fairly large tap list but I do wish it was a bit bigger (I know, Iím being needy here). Otherwise, a great experience.

Cute little town, nice wooden decor, sweet people. I would go again and again. The selection is what youíd expect from a place that makes some of the finest beers in the world. The release I went to was nuts but itís a great little place.

We made this place on our beer pilgrimage to Cali for the PtY release and SF Beer week. Cool little place on a narrow street with retail shops and restaurants lining it. We didnít do a brewery tour as it was the beer release party going on and was very crowded in the pub. We wanted to eat and drink, anyway. Their selection was fantastic with both sides of the board filled up with list of taps and a few bottles to choose from. We got a table and the service was pretty good, considering the packed house. Had a pizza, which was very tasty, and a PtY x2, PtE and some samplers. Prices were very good. They brought over the bottles we purchased to take, as well. Spent quite a tidy sum as I couldnít resist buying bottles of Supplication, PtE, Blind Pig, Temptation and three growlers of PtY. What a score!

Definitely worth the drive up. My first stop after landing at SFO. Dark, loud space with lots of beer paraphernalia on the walls. A nice view into the barrel room from a front of the bar. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and was willing to offer suggestions to my non-beer drinking wife. The food was great, we split the spinach salad and the pizza marguerite and both were great. As for the beer... what is there to say that hasnít been said before? Awesome selection of styles, both the regular brewpub lineup as well as the barrel-aged sour stuff. Well-priced and the quality is second to none. Glad to have finally gotten to see where the magic happens.

WORTH THE DRIVE. I absolutely loved this place. It reminds me a lot of Pizza Port Carlsbad, only smaller and with better food. Great atmosphere, service, and above all BEER. Their samplers are amazing, and there are few things as good as getting Temptation and Consecration from the tap. Bottles? Yes, please.
