Big place with a great selection of beer, good food, good service and a convenient location close to the airport. Crazy aircon at the time though, even the staff said it was too cold.

Very nice arm of Churchkey group Out in Alexandria stopped by after a work event. Great atmosphere. A little more sports bary feel that i enjoyed. Had a nice selection and good service. Will go back if i am around.

One of my go to places when weíre out in the town and in the mood for a few good beers. I really enjoy the couches by the fireplace. If you get there early enough, you can secure a seat there. Fun art and tile work decorate the walls. Open and spacious feeling.
Nice list of rotating drafts, offering a variety of styles, to include a few out of market beers. Two casks available.
Decent bottle list, although some of the beers are marked up way too high. This isnít a cheap place by any stretch.
Great food. Far above average for a place that is seemingly focused on beer.
Definitely worth a stop if youíre in the area.

Was back here last night, and I have to say that my original score was way too low. Excellent draft/cask/bottle list, and outstanding food. Our server was also very attentive (and knowledgeable) without getting in the way. The only "complaint" is that the place isnít a bargain, but I certainly canít say itís overpriced either (FWIW, the HH beer discounts improve the price significantly).
(7/1/06) New place in Alexandria with good tap selections (Duchess, DFH, Left Hand, Dominion, Victory, etc.) and extensive bottle selection (nothing rare, but plenty of good stuff). Food was decent, and service was friendly though a bit slow (sat in the bar section). Beers are reasonably priced. Modern decor.

This place is definitely a standard craft beer drinking establishment in the Northern Virginia of the Washington DC.
Despite its name, there isnít much rustic about this place. It is very contemporary, with beautiful, yet weird glass architectural structures on the walls.
The food menu may not be extensive, but the quality of the food they have there is stupendous! My wife and I ordered fries with ranch dressing. What they brought out were orgasmic golden, freshly cut potato strips, with tons of yummy spices, and tossed in high grade ranch.
Our waiter knew a little bit about the beers. For instance, he knew that "Katherine the Great," while classified as a Russian Imperial Stout, is not exactly what one might expect from that style (more golden in color and fruity in taste).
I was a bit disappointed in brew selection the particular night that we went. Some of the more popular drafts were out, including: Founders Breakfast Stout, New Holland Icabod, and a couple of others. Some of the rare gems: Bruery Mischief, Avery IPA, Founders Dirty Bastard, Bellís Two-Hearted, and a few others. They also have an extensive bottle selection.
Iíve heard many say that they think the restaurant is overpriced. I disagree. My wife and I split a pretty good sized pizza for $14-15 bucks, a huge vat of fries $8, and two beers each. Since we went during happy hour, the beers were $2 off each. We walked away more than satisfied, even if our waistlines felt stretched afterwards.

I would say that this place is somewhat over-rated. The beer selection is very solid however, pales in comparison to Churchkey. however, they make up for with decent food and solid service. I had a burger and it was pretty tasty. Pretty modern decor at the corner of an up and coming neighborhood in Alexandria. Decent place but there are much better in the DC area.

Visited July 1, 2013. Itís an impressive room with nice staff and an awesome selection of bottles to go with the double-sided page of taps. I decided to go with the Port City Brewing products from down the road and had, in order, the Essential Pale ale (5.5%), the Tartan Ale (same) and the Derecho (4.8%). Sadly, I was there too late to try the Cask version of the Derecho! All were tasty, and I found myself enjoying the darker Scottish ale the most. Itís a somewhat pricey thin-crust pizza place, and our table gobbled up the three we ordered, along with the lovely Tater Tots and some fried doughnuts for dessert. Iím told the burger is excellent, well the one at an adjacent table looked nice! Iíd happily return here for those Tater Tots!! And next time Iíll tuck into the many IPAs on the menu. Highly Recommended.

Same owners as Churchkey, Neighborhood Restaurant Group, and comes across at Churchkey Lite with a big focus on beer but smaller tap list and smaller bottle list, but still huge compared to most beer bars. Interior is spacious, more like a corporate design inside rather than custom like CK. Tap list had much less bizzare stuff, only perhaps 1 or 2 beers I had never had before. Offers small pours of tap beers, which is nice. Pizzas were very nice. Loved the Greek pizza. Took my grandfather here actually and he enjoyed his pizza as well. Quick service. I liked it. Excellent place to stop by especially if picking up or dropping off someone at Reagan National that is only about a mile away. Only qualm is that the full menu is not available under 5pm or something so you are having the íbar menuí which is mostly sandwiches and pizzas. Thankfully the food was all very good.

Very good food, nice ambience and interesting beer menu. Many drafts with reasonably priced tastings. Bottle menu is impressive but with breathtaking prices.
