Great beer selection in a run down unassuming gas station. The store was rather warm which isn’t good for some of these delicate beers, but I can’t fault them on selection. Great mead selection, which you don’t widely see.

I hadn’t read the reviews. I didn’t know what I was walking in to. All I knew was that some friend of a friend of a guy who worked at some place I stopped in at told me to check it out. You pull up and it’s a gas station and self-serve carwash with a little brick building. Next to a highway overpass. Totally unassuming. I figured they’d have a few coolers of nationally-distributed stuff and maybe something that the guy who recommended it hadn’t seen before. Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Walk in the door and everywhere you look, beer. Glorious, wonderful beer. Bottles everywhere. Shelving of all types packed full of nearly everything you can think of. All fairly well organized. You can definitely find what you’re looking for very quickly, but the layout also invites you to wander around and take in the selection. There’s a whole wire shelf dedicated to promotional beer glassware from tons of breweries. Which is really awesome. Near the front there’s markdowns on seasonals and stuff they’re looking to unload. Always worth browsing. Walk towards the back, past the front counter, and you’ve got coolers on your right and a back room full of stuff. In front of you are aisles of more beer. Oh, and there’s a good selection of cigars and some wine. They also have rotating taps. I think hopslam was there not too long ago. Definitely keep tabs on their facebook page! The staff are awesome, as well. Very knowledgeable, very friendly, and can provide recommendations on the spot - no matter what you’re looking for. They introduced me to some fantastic beers the first time I stopped in, even though I wasn’t sure what style I was looking for at first. There are always regulars hanging around, chatting. It’s a great atmosphere. Prices are comparable with everywhere else in the area on things they carry in-common. Prices on hard-to-find or limited distribution stuff are good. I’ve never felt the need to hold off on a purchase, fearing I wasn’t getting a good deal.

Easily missed and a bit grungy on the outside but this has to be one of the best beer stores in the world for selection. We hit it on a busy evening when they were serving a few beers too but the tellers coped. Intelligently laid out shelves, all well-stocked. Good mix of US and imported.

This is the store that never ends. An amazing wall-to-wall selection. Around every corner is something new and special. Excellent variety of styles, breweries, regions, countries, maybe other planets. Great prices, friendly service and great hours. Fresh local growlers and pints available!

The selection at this place is second to none. They’ve got an amazing number of beers here, and I had no trouble finding a bunch of new brews. I was a tad disappointed with the service, since it seemed like it was just a couple people with jobs, rather than run by people who love beer. But this is a definite stop if you’re looking for craft beer.

Need a DIPA while you shop at 8 AM? This is your place. Great selection and prices. A must if in the area.

was in a hurry to catch my flight, was impressed by the selection but really impressed by the service. Teller was incredibly helpful and kind. Wish I woud have had more time. Extra points for singles of everything!!

Great beer store with a fantastic selection. It’s a must when visiting Durham.
