Visited last week while in town. Awesome selection in an unsuspecting area/building. Nothing fancy, which is fine by me. As soon as I walked in the staff asked if I had been there before. I had not. They gave me about a 2 minute tour which made sense for the layout. HUGE selection of bottles from all over the world. Great experience.

Plenty of parking right on the side of the building. Couple dozen people in this place, half a dozen employees. Friendly and helpful staff. Big selections and pretty good prices. Some tap selections to be had. Hope to go back some time.

Samís Quick Shop is the best beer store Iíve been to in the southeastern region. They have an overwhelming selection, friendly and helpful staff, and fair prices.

Love Sams! I live about 25 mins down the road from Durham but about once a week or so I make the ride to Sams. Great selection, great dudes. It might not look like much from the outside. But trust me, it rules. They have a good amount of taps as well that they change on a regular basis. If youíre ever in the Bull City, go here!

Probably one of the best beer stores in NC, even better than Bruisin Ales in Asheville, imho. Good advice from the friendly staff. Was looking for local beers not available in my home state, and found plenty. Only problem was that I could have gone broke if I bought everything I wanted.

Great beer selection in a run down unassuming gas station. The store was rather warm which isnít good for some of these delicate beers, but I canít fault them on selection. Great mead selection, which you donít widely see.

I hadnít read the reviews. I didnít know what I was walking in to. All I knew was that some friend of a friend of a guy who worked at some place I stopped in at told me to check it out. You pull up and itís a gas station and self-serve carwash with a little brick building. Next to a highway overpass. Totally unassuming. I figured theyíd have a few coolers of nationally-distributed stuff and maybe something that the guy who recommended it hadnít seen before. Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Walk in the door and everywhere you look, beer. Glorious, wonderful beer. Bottles everywhere. Shelving of all types packed full of nearly everything you can think of. All fairly well organized. You can definitely find what youíre looking for very quickly, but the layout also invites you to wander around and take in the selection. Thereís a whole wire shelf dedicated to promotional beer glassware from tons of breweries. Which is really awesome. Near the front thereís markdowns on seasonals and stuff theyíre looking to unload. Always worth browsing. Walk towards the back, past the front counter, and youíve got coolers on your right and a back room full of stuff. In front of you are aisles of more beer. Oh, and thereís a good selection of cigars and some wine. They also have rotating taps. I think hopslam was there not too long ago. Definitely keep tabs on their facebook page! The staff are awesome, as well. Very knowledgeable, very friendly, and can provide recommendations on the spot - no matter what youíre looking for. They introduced me to some fantastic beers the first time I stopped in, even though I wasnít sure what style I was looking for at first. There are always regulars hanging around, chatting. Itís a great atmosphere. Prices are comparable with everywhere else in the area on things they carry in-common. Prices on hard-to-find or limited distribution stuff are good. Iíve never felt the need to hold off on a purchase, fearing I wasnít getting a good deal.
