AMBIANCE - I love the feel of all this magnificent beer in a convenience store environment. Once youíre past the bland exterior, it is a beer wonderland. SERVICE - Helpful when prodded, personable always. SELECTION - I mean...this is about as perfect as it gets, so it deserves the highest rating. Walking through Samís, you are assaulted with an unthinkable amount of choices. The only thing that can stop their stock is distribution restrictions. I truly believe they would try to stock everything if they could get it. VALUE - Youíll likely spend a lot of money here, but not because the stuff is priced too high! OVERALL - What more can I say, Iím really glad I live only 25 minutes from Samís.

So this place literally looks like an old, run down, crappy Gas Station. But it is 2% Gas Station crap lagers, and 98% great craft. I came out of the store a bit weak in the wallet but it was well worth the pain. Iíll be back.

They are great. I go there almost weekly if not more. The guys working there in the morning are great. They hook you up if you are a loyal customer. The no doubt have the biggest selection of beers in all the area. I must for anyone in the Durham area!

Right down the street from Duke. Like most on here have said this looks like you avearage quicky mart from the outside but once you walk in BAM your a-hole to elbow in beer heaven. They took every available inch of space and stuffed it with beer. Lots of regular micros like New Belgium, Founders and Bells but they have tons of local North Carolina beers that you probably have never heard of. Staff is hippy and laid back but helpful if asked. Deffinalty worth finding.

It looks like just an unassuming convinience store, but I was quickly surprised by the selection. The staff was very friendly, but not intrusive, and knowledgable. We mixed a six pack, and the price was fairly standard. Great place, and if I was closer, itíd be my store of choice. Unfortunately, itíll just have to be saved for those special trips. Canít wait to get back there!

Awesome little hole in the wall service station. Canít tell it has the best selction of bottles from the outside but once you go in, itís jackpot.

As everyone else has said itís just a little hole-in-the-wall place by the railroad tracks, but inside is beer heaven. Stopped in on a trip from Terp land to Southern Pines and was pleased to see plenty of beers available that we canít get in MD. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Plenty of craft beers from around the country and hardly any of the Budmillcoors crap, YAHOO!!!!!!!!. Definetly worth a stop when you are in the area.

Samís is absolutely ridiculous. First off, it is literally a gas station convenience store and sells 2% gas station bullshit and 98% craft beer with literally aisles and aisles to peruse. Loads of Allagash, Bear Republic Ballast Point, Unibroue, Dieu du Ciel, Rogue, Bells, Founders, Nogne O, Mikkeller, trappists, random German and English things. You get super cheap glassware to match with the beer you buy!! I have come into Samís with a tasting group and racked up a $250 tab easily. Yeah, itís that awesome. Also, the guys that work there know just about everything about beer so ask them questions! Just not dumb questions.

The location sucks since it is right in the heart of the Duke campus; Go Hokies!From the outside, it seemed like an ordinary inner city c-store, with gas pumps. Immediately upon entering, there are the usual c-store items. After about 3 small shelves, the room opens into a hall of unique and interesting beers. It has the feel of a head shop, but with beer, and lots of it! Many rare and hard to find beers. Most notable: Fantome, Jolly Pumpkin, Cantillon, Struise, Hoppin Frog, 3 Fonteinen, Great Divide. Funky eastern europeans I had never heard of too, including some Polish meads. The staff was cordial and seemed willing to help. The cleanliness left much to be desired, particularly the restroom, but thatís a minor issue when compared to the expansive beer selection. I bought Great Divide Dunkel Weiss, Jolly Pumpkin, Cantillon, and every wheat I could find that I havenít had. Oh, and I got a full tank of gas too. I will definitely visit again and often despite the fact that it is 3-4 hours away and I have no other reason to be there.
