Stopped in for a sampler. Pretty cramped space, lots of stairs, not much inside seating, but a small open air patio. Solid prices. Taster flight is cheap ($7), but uses shot glasses, which makes rating a challenge. Fortunately most of their beers are mediocre enough that a couple of ounces is enough.

this place totally embodies, hippy, organic burning man vibes. that’s cool but you gotta pair those vibes with great beer and this place was pretty lacking in that. prices were great. very eccentric staff and clientel. probably wouldn’t come here often.

As a ’place,’ this is a pretty cool joint. It’s the spot all the young Santa Cruz folk who wear only green and brown clothes go to. Unfortunately, the beer generally ranges from somewhat above average to garbage ashtray. Judging by the litany of off-flavors I’ve tasted from their offerings, they just don’t really control their fermentation. Higher alcohols, random acidities... They get by on their ’organic brewer’ rep, that’s for sure.

Located in an outdoor mall/shopping center with a number of wine, coffee, beer, and other consumable related businesses. The brewery is near the rear of the lot and features a small downstairs bar with just a couple taps (cash only) and the full upstairs bar with all their beers and some snacks. Flights of 8 are offered and they’re pretty cheap (only about $7). The beers on the whole are pretty mediocre, but the pumpkin chocolate porter was pretty decent. Quick service despite a packed house. Decent place, but the beer isn’t very good.

Messy, lowkey place. I did not have any food there, just a beer. I had their pale ale, which did not stand out. Still, a nice place to hang out.

Visited June 8, 2013 on a trip through Santa Cruz.

This is a large place with a bar "upstairs", a patio with plenty of seating, and a kind of garage type area under the building with another bar. Lots of artsy stuff on the walls around the bar. Service was pretty slow. One bartender and a couple of bar backs.

The beer was not very good but I suppose you could choke it down with some food from the bakery next door or some jerky from the butcher shop.

Nice relaxing lowkey place on the westside with an outside patio, decently priced beer, and food available (delivered) from the bakery next door.

Odd place - kind of worn and very woody, dark interior, small bar, and some seats, also a small seating area in front over looking the parking lot. Our table was dirty, which pulls my ambience down. They had 9 beers on draft when we visited, but all of mediocre to poor quality - which proves to me, that organic is not better. If you’re a ticker drop by otherwise stay away. Worst place we visited in Santa Cruz.

June 2009. This is quite the promising location -- kinda touristy, but kitschy and quaint, a mix of a warehouse front and a woody hippie joint. None of the beers here were all that good unfortunately, because the little tasting room is kinda cozy. Food is available, brought over from the next-door cafe. Stop by if you’re in the area; there are those that like the beer.
