What can I say about this place. Not only does SARA make the best beer for 100 miles in any direction, theyíve built an incredible community, and I donít say that lightly. Everything here is the best.

Cool little place filled with what looked like mostly local people and a few dogs. Friendly service. Great beer. They also donít cheat you on your pour. They fill the tulip to the top. They did not offer flights, but they did offer half glasses. Prices were good, especially if you are used to Los Angeles prices. My only complaint is that there are only five taps. I wanted more.

Iíve been hearing so much about this place and the last two times I was in the area they werenít open so I decided that I had to check them out (especially after gummybearscantsailís tasting of all the bottles offered by Sante Adairius). On a Saturday afternoon there were a fair amount of customers already but it was a comfortable atmosphere with a "patio" roped off outside, some barrels to use as tables, and a band playing in the parking lot.

The service was very friendly and were happy to explain some things about the beer. Unfortunately they dont do samplers/flights but they do half glasses and most of the beers are pretty good. They really only had a couple of styles present when I was there, which were the most popular ones: hoppy, farmhouse, and coffee infused. So far I think my favorites are the Berliner and the Saison Bernice (of which they had bottles for $15).

Getting here sounds more complicated than it really is. Get off of 1 and make 4 rights.

Iím so glad this place is here now! Capitola has been one of our favorite places to go for years with the only negative thing beingÖno good beer! Not anymore. Word has been spreading about the amazing farmhouse and wild ales coming from SARA and for good reason. If I were to open a brewery, this is how I would do it. A very nice, small tasting room with a small section of parking lot roped off with more barrels and stools. Most of the time thereís locals sharing beers and chatting. I always meet some friendly characters here. The service is top notch. All the employees are so enthusiastic and passionate about the beers. The only negative at this point is that sometimes they run out of beer because of the small operation. That will change now that they added more tanks. You can order beers by the pint, half pint, or sample all of them. This place is worth going out of your way for.

Tiny oasis out in a weird part of town. Once you get settled though it unfolds into a tiny paradise of beer. Usually good people around and always amazing brews. Polite and knowledgeable service. Right now this is a hidden gem by international beer people standards.

Finally made it to this place, and it is worth the hype that is starting to build. Its a tiny little place, but is crowded on a Saturday afternoon. They run six taps, and most everything is in such small batches that they will only do growler fills on one of them. They donít have growlers, so bring your own. Beers are amazing, service is small town friendly, prices are cheap. No taster flights, but half pours are only 3-4$.

Finally, a new brewery worth getting excited about! Nice selection of house brews ranging from well above average to excellent in quality - all solid and well crafted. I may be a little biased in that theyíre brewing a good selection of what I want to drink: Belgians, porters, sours, and an outstanding west coast IPA. Prices are quite reasonable and kind of on the low side for the quality of beer. Nice comfortable tasting room focused on relaxing with a good beer and a good music selection: Wilco, Talking Heads, &c. The service is fantastic. My sort of place.

To start off, the best beer in the Monterey Bay area by far. You need to look to the better brewers in NorCal for a real comparison. The tasting room is small but inviting, with some interesting light fixtures, a few barrels for tables and a bar with room for about six people. The staff manning the taps, very often consisting solely of Tim, the brewer, are very friendly and attentive. The regulars are also friendly and generous, on a couple of occasions having shared their own bottles they brought in with others like me who were complete strangers. There seems to usually be an IPA available for wide appeal but the other three or four choices range from saison to imperial stout to wine barrel-aged sour. Fantastic beer, good people, and a personal bonus that itís a short walk from my house.
