74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (465) Toronto, ON, Ontario | November 22, 2012 Cool neighborhood spot on the Danforth. I had come here for brunch a few months ago (which was awesome) but hadn’t had anything to drink while I was there so I popped back in recently. It’s a small, quaint little spot - there’s a small bar-like area up near the front where you can chill and people watch. Several small tables dot the interior along with a few banquettes around the outside edge. Solid tap list with mostly Ontario micros and a small, but well-selection bottle selection. It’s not really a beer bar, per se, but they do pretty well with the space they have. It’s a cool spot and worth checking out - I feel like I’d be here pretty often if I lived in the neighborhood. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 Sammy (462) Toronto, Ontario | March 27, 2011 A potential up and coming place very east on the Danforth. So a little away from most tourist traffic, but with a few unique advantages and so I think worth a stop in if you are in the area. One, if there was a smallish separate room with entertainment. Nothing exceptional, just an older guy playing guitar, but they are trying here. The main part is a smallish restauarant, with only the Mill Street catching my eye, it was macro oriented. However the bottle selection was good, its LCBO but they have a large selection: about three dozen local and three dozen Belgians, going back to LCBO stuff five years. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 mephisto (53) , Taiwan | August 1, 2007 a decent place with a bit of grand place/brussels feel to it. an ok selection and friendly service. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Gorbalev (57) Ontario | November 16, 2005 Neat Spot. Nice tap selection , beer was very fresh when I was there and served properly. Some nice finds on the bottle list as well with prices that rival Ciro’s for the best in town. Food was good and service was ok, just overworked. Nice little patio on the side. I am planning on moving out this way and when I do, this, The Only, and Dora’s will be my regular haunts. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (190) Victoria, British Columbia | January 4, 2004| Updated July 8, 2004 Around the corner from my brother’s place in Toronto. Fair selection of beer is augmented by friendly staff and a food menu of good value. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (612) Savusavu, Fiji Islands | January 3, 2004| Updated January 8, 2004 Funky-ish neighbourhood place with surprisingly good beer list and pleasantly low prices. Be wary of sitting too close to the open kitchen as you'll find yourself feeling greasy afterwards. Very casual feel to the place, as befits the neighbourhood. |
