This is a fairly new restaurant right on the border of the Des Plaines river wetlands about 5 miles south of the WI border. The tap list is fairly modest in selection offering a selection you could get at most chain restaurants. The bottle selection is pretty nice with a local, import, and specialty list. The locals include Goose Island, Leinies, Fat Tire, and the import are all standard fare. The specialty beers include 3F, DFH, Anchor, and North Coast. The even have a neon sigh of NC Brother Thelonious, very cool. Its made to look like a ocean-side clapboard house with lots of windows, a upstairs patio, and decent landscaping. The main thing to consider is with the all-you-can-eat food specials. Everyday they have all you can eat fried chicken, Monday is Ribs, and Wed & Fri is 2 types of fish fry.
The menu is skewed toward southern cooking, good portions and price, and good quality. I also like that they offer regular fries or sweet-potato fries. Saturday & Sunday they have breakfast, plus buffet
