A huge space divided into two distinct drinking areas. At capacity, they could easily fit a few hundred people in here. I visited on a Friday night and didnít find it too busy. Watching the bartender deal with the stream of customers reminded me of just how valuable good staff can be. He effortlessly changed gears from describing some of the beers to an overwhelmed tourist to giving a pretty detailed answer to a question some beer geek asked about their brewing process. It was impressive. As for the beers, I enjoyed them quite a bit. 15 of their own available on tap plus one on cask. I was able to make my own flight (other reviewers mention that this isnít possible - maybe ask more nicely next time?). The India Brown Ale was absolutely fantastic, a perfect representation of a pretty unsexy style. Overall, a top tier brewpub. An essential stop if youíre visiting town.

In St. Louis on a business trip last week. Stopped in on 7/24 as soon as I got into town, before even checking into my hotel. This is the one place I wanted to visit more than any others. Got in around 3 PM and grabbed a seat at the bar. Only a few people there, which was nice. Bartender was quick to serve me and the other customers and engage in some small chat. Friendly guy. Beer selection was very nice! Even had a couple selections on cask. I am very familiar with Schlaflyís beers as they are heavily distributed around the Louisville, KY area (where Iím from). And I am certainly a fan. However their beers on tap coming straight from the source were far better than their bottled beers I am familiar with. Unfortunately I only had beers and did not order any food, so I canít grade that. But the tap room was plenty large with two bars and plenty of seating. Very clean and upscale looking, but with a casual atmosphere. It was nice that they had a large viewing window into the brewing area too. Very cool place and an absolute must stop for craft beer fans in the area.

This location has two distinct sections to it, one that feels more like a restaurant, and one that feels more like a typical pub - both are nice. It has a bit of a lodge-like feel to it, which is a nice change of scenery from the surrounding neighborhood. The pub does have a small stage for live music, but when I visited, they just had a mix of alternative rock coming through the PA at a volume high enough to listen to it, but low enough so that holding a conversation was easy. The staff is friendly and fairly knowledgeable regarding their beers. I didnít have any food on this visit, but in a previous visit, I enjoyed some of their fare, so Iím giving them the benefit of the doubt that things havenít changed much. They do a fixed flight of five plus one of your choice, which is a shame considering how many beers they had to offer - it would be nice to see them simply move to a model where they have pint price and sample price and let patrons order whatever they like for their sample flight. Their selection included all their regulars plus seasonals, limited, and a couple experiments, exlusives, and casks.

Visited during RBSG 2014. Rather pretty looking building. Quite large, brick construction thatís typical of the area. Thereís a large dining room and bar area with lots of seating and a dozen taps or so. Thereís a large area upstairs as well (where the grand tasting was held) which can be rented out for private events and also has a bar with a number of taps and bottles. Thereís a stage for music and such, too.
Service was hard to judge as it was not a typical visit, but the people were helpful and friendly. The food was good, too.
Lots of bottles available. Good variation of taps. Fair pricing on everything as well. And a pretty convenient location that is only a mile or so from downtown.

A large restaurant area downstairs with a nice area upstairs with a bar and large open room where I spent my time. Service was good on our visit. They had a number of taps available upstairs and down with a good number of bottles to go. Food was good but nothing special. A pretty cool place with a lot of history.

Visited during RBSG 2014 for the Grand Tasting. Didnít pay much attention to the main floor area but upstairs had a nice bar with a good amount of tables. Pretty good food. Staff seemed friendly. Some interesting house beers available including a couple casks. Would love to come back to try their regular food menu and other cask/draft offerings.

A bit of a trek from downtown, but a large space with plenty of parking. Nice large brewery with a restaraunt and brewpub. Kid and family friendly. Samplers given freely and they have some really good beer if you go for their seasonals. Food was decent and overall a good stop if you happen to be in the area.

This place is spectacular. Lots of taps in a cool old building. Every trip here has been a good experience with great service, a good selection and great prices. Admittedly I have grabbed a growler and run most times, but it would be a mistake to visit St. Louis and not stop by.

This is my favorite place in STL. If you want Schlafly beers, this is the place to go. If you want other beers, donít bother here. But the food is good too. Well worth the trip.
