84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Beer3000 (71) Kristiansand, Norway | March 6, 2011 Nice and cozy place with a fine and hand picked selection of quality beers. Interesting and high quality beers on tap that’s not to be find that easy other places. Their own two beers I sampled where nice but more on the safer side. Friendly and knowable staff that takes an honest interest in their beers and their customers. I also overheard that they have planed to expand the tap line with six more taps. A must visit place. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Odland (34) , Norway | February 5, 2011 A cozy microbrewery/pub with located in a cellar. A roaring fireplace and brick walls. Service minded bartenders with a good grip on their beers. Both those on tap, their own, and bottled beers from other breweries.
I did not really fancy their micro brews but the bottle selection was rather nice. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 KnutAlbert (240) Oslo, Norway | January 31, 2011| Updated August 24, 2012 Cozy vaulted cellar, open fire, a bit noisy when full. Their own brews are well worth trying, after some stumbling at first they are now of good quality and there is always something new. And the import list, both on tap and in bottles is outstanding. A must stop in Oslo. Outside taps planned for the summer season. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (319) Tromsø, Norway | January 22, 2011| Updated August 24, 2012 Oslo beer scene is steadily improving. I have visited this new brewpub twice; first in late November last year when the place was overcrowded and the beers so and so. On my next visit on a Monday afternoon in January their two own ales were of high standard and a pleasure to drink. Welcoming, cosy beer hall-like place with long benches and a fire place at the rear end of the hall. A bit similar to some of the brewpubs you can find in the railway aches in Berlin. Has got an interesting bottle beer list with a fine selection of 30 beers. Attentive and friendly service. About 10 minutes walk from the central railway station (Last visited, 10.01.2011).
| 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 gunnar (209) Sandnes, Norway | December 3, 2010| Updated August 24, 2012 Like entering a cavern, nice and comforting. A big vaulted brick ceiling, with an enourmous open fireplace in the opposite end, a real threat when the temperature outside was freezing. The vauled roof had a big disadvantage, when all the guests try to make a conversation, it all turns out quite cacaphonic, it´s like a chicken farm. Besides that the beers were excellent, the bartender service was top notch.
| 62 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Bryne (214) Bryne, Norway | November 29, 2010| Updated August 24, 2012 Easy to find, straight up the street "Storgata" across a bridge over river "Akerselva" and then you will see the sign for Schouskjelleren Mikrobryggeri. And what a fantastic cellar with vaulted brick ceiling and a crackling fireplace. Only one problem, I found their two beers present this day quite average. Many may disagree, but I felt they were rather raw and immature. Not bad at all, but not that good either. (Visited November 23rd 2010) | 64 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 RuneStumo (58) FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | November 26, 2010 24.11.2010. I had a hard time finding this place. Oslo was ice cold this evning with sharp wind and minus 8-10 degrees celcius, so I almost gave up looking for it. But I found it, and I am very happy about that. Very nice place with a fire burning at a large fireplace, Keeping peaople warm. Helpfull girl behind the bar talked me through the selection and i got to taste the Bobek blond and the garden of eden. I came there alone but ended up speaking to som american guys. I had a good time! | 66 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Smaskifa (25) Oslo, Norway | November 21, 2010 The interior is fantastic, just like going into a German beer hall in mint condition. Large brick vault with lit windows, leather sofas and a nice fireplace on the opposite side of the bar. By far the nices brew pub I’ve been to in Oslo, or even ever.
I didn’t have a big look at the selection since it was my stag, but it seemed nice. Some people were bringing small plates of something edible to their tables, didn’t know what it was, but I guess they serve simple food.
The toilet situation could be better, too few stalls and I have no idea what was going on in the bottom of the one toilet they had. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Kestral (29) Årnes, Norway | November 4, 2010 Located on my way home from work. Terrifying. The cellar is gorgeous. Rustic, with arched brich walls, arched windows (which are just lit glass, since it’s a cellar), dark wooden floors and a huge fireplace. Comfy leather benches and big wooden tables complete the look. A lot of brass in the bar area. Cozy as can get. They brew and serve their own beer and seem to struggle keeping up with the demand, so last time I was there they only had 2 of their own beers available. They did have Närke and some other micro on tap when I was there. Their bottle collection is decent. Not huge, but well selected. Way more than the 8 bottles this page says anyway. Staff is attentive and friendly. I can’t really remember if they have any food or not. Hasn’t been an issue when I’ve been there. Prices are decent for Norway, 50 something for a pint of their own stuff if I remember correctly. A great place to enjoy a hearty brew on a cold winter day next to the fire. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 espenra (31) Kurland, Norway | October 10, 2010 Only the second brewpub in Oslo and they are off to a flying start. Located on the cellar of the old Schous Bryggeri at Grünerløkka. In addition to brewing their own beer they also have a nice, but small selection of other beer as well. Since they are located in a cellar the atmosphere is reminiscent of a german beerhall and it can get very noisy at times. |
