The "regular" beer is brewed at Villacher but allegedly specials brewed on site are still available from time to time.

For our group visiting Vienna it was the best brewpub there. Very drinkable beer, very nice staff and perfect atmosphere.

Schwarzer Rabe is a relaxed corner pub-like brewpub a couple of blocks away from Ottakring U3 subway station (the place can also be reached by tram number J). At the time of my visit in December 2007 they offered one house beer, Weihnachtsbock (Christmas bock), but the house beer selection is supposed to vary (according to the menu, brews like Raven’s ale, X’mas porter, cherry-stout, Raven’s red bock and Raven-alt have been available). Note that Rabenbräu beer is not brewed at the site but is a Villacher brew! They offer other macro brews as well. Background rock music was played, service was friendly and food was available. Even though the house beer selection seems to be very limited, the place is a recommended one to sit back and relax.

A very small corner pub with a friendly atmosphere, very close to the Ottakringer brewing plant. I believe them to be brewing only one beer which is of decent quality, but they do offer a few others. Frankly, it’s a bit out of the way, so you should not make the place a priority, but it’s a small and cosy one where I could imagine spending a few hours.
