82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 14/20 KPD (117) Michigan | September 2, 2012| Updated September 4, 2012 Large comfortable pub, lots of tvs, pool tables, 44 taps, decent food. The selection was good but not lots of less common beers. Good crowd on a Saturday, friendly staff and other patrons. For lunch had $3 pints, great deal. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 b3shine (178) Cincinnati, Ohio | July 8, 2012| Updated September 4, 2012 I’ve been going to Shakespeare’s since it opened, and they’ve made a customer for life out of me. The tap selection is great, and so is the staff. Food is good too (try the pizza!), and they always have food and drink specials. My favorite place in Kalamazoo. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 tcanimal987 (10) , | June 13, 2012| Updated September 4, 2012 Really Fun....that’s all you need to know, plus FREE POPCORN! gotta love that | 70 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Capa (248) Manama, Bahrain | April 30, 2012 I’m not entirely sure what the draw of this place is. The locals I talked to love it so obviously I missed something. Was there on a Friday evening. Packed. Pretty dirty feeling. Large and open with a long bar. Solid tap lineup. With as many taps as they had I didn’t see too many ones I was really itching to try. Maybe I came on a bad night, I don’t know. I was let down. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 ElGaucho (207) Minnetonka, Minnesota | March 17, 2012 Can’t believe this place wasn’t on Ratebeer places until I added it yesterday. What I’ve discovered is that Kalamazoo’s considerable number of top beer spots ad under appreciated likely because it’s kind of hard to get here. 2 hr drive from both Chicago and detroit. But as a beer destination, folks, it’s worth it. With bells, Kalamazoo beer exchange and Shakespeare’s you have 3 outstanding beer places within walking distance of each other. Shakespeare’s used to be a fishing rod store. Very spacious with a large outdoor patio. 44 taps, most of which are awesome. Plus $3 pints on Sundays for almost all of them. My food experience consists of a yummy Irish breakfast sandwich. Enjoying it today starting at 7am mfor St. patty’s day. Must visit. |
