The Tap has a reputation with some for being pricey, but itís pricey for a reason. The main room is a spectacular refurbishment, and the brewery room even more so.
The beer range is outstanding on cask keg and bottle. Huge world beer selection and highly regarded beers on cask and keg. Although with such a huge range it often pays to ask a few questions about the beer before buying.

When walking through the door Iím met with the anticipation of a child in a sweetshop. In my opinion, outside of maybe London and Manchester, this place is second to none in the UK. A perfect blend of Keg and Cask, knowledgeable bar staff and the decor really make this place special.

Incredible bar on Sheffield station. Ludicrously convenient. Laughably good selection of cask, keg and bottles, with a Thornbridge and craft flavour. One of the best bars in the UK.

I love the Sheffield Tap so much I have been known to take the train from Nottingham and never leave Sheffield Station! They have the best bottled beer selection of any pub Iíve been to in the UK, as well as an excellent range of both cask and keg beers. They have the full range of Thornbridgeís superb ales, as well as a selection of guest ales usually from one brewery at a time. In addition, they have unusual keg selections for the region such as Meantime IPA and an American guest beer (Left Hand Imperial Stout last time I was there). There is a friendly atmosphere, and whatís more, they sell takeaway containers so you have have a cheeky Jaipur on the train home!

My favourite bar in Sheffield. Hard to find any faults. I visit once a week when possible and thereís also something on cask and keg that iíve never tried before. Good range of Thornbridge on cask as well as several from breweries such as Darkstar, marble and Magic rock. Several craft keg taps, usually a Brewdog and some U.S craft. Huge bottle list inc. end of history (which you can see above the bar). Laid back atmosphere, which is suprising considering how busy the place usually is. Staff are friendly, helpfull, knowledgable and know how to pour a great pint. Only slight downside is that it can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Iíd recoommend this place to any visitor to Sheffield.

Probably one of my favourite pubs to go in. Ok, your taking upwards of £2.80 a pint and beyond £4 for the likes of Thornbridge Geminus Rye PA which I paid £2.25 for a half of. But its in a convienient location and its somewhere youíd sit all-day and enjoy the beer, which there is a HUGE selection of and relax. This is a must visit for any serious ale drinker, it is not cheap by any means but the beer served is of the highest quality.

I had to stop there just for a beer. It took two hours before I kept on travelling. Thornbridge, do I have to say more (2011).
