A good starting point if you are looking for regional bottled beer. Also the more common beers from Europe. Friendly shop assistant. Bottles kept on the shelves.

Small bottle shop in Liverpool city centre. Has a good range of real ales, craft, Belgian and German beers. A little on the expensive side, but I will probably pop in again for something special when I’m in Liverpool next

Very decent little bottle shop, conveniently located in central Liverpool. The range focuses on UK and local beers, which is great for someone visiting the area. They also have a moderate selection of US, Belgian and other international beers though nothing particularly special beyond the UK stuff. I found the prices fairly reasonable and the offer bulk discounts on many of their beers. They also have a frequent buyer program. This place seems to be the only bottle shop in town and, considering its central location, make it one of the must-visit beer stops in Liverpool.

Bottle shop in Liverpool City centre. Good selection of Local, European and US beers. However the prices are not very competitive, some bottles are around £1or more than the going rate. I suppose the rent is high in its location. Worth a look for a few bottles but I wouldn’t want to spend too much on its prices.

A rather constricted, but charming little bottle shop to the rear of the Whitechapel pedestrian area of central Liverpool. Packed with interesting bottled beers, about 250 of them, clear and well lined-up. Knowledgeable service with good recommendations, especially when it came to regional brewed ales. Liverpool Organic Brewery has made a few beers exclusively for the shop, three of them were available on my visit. The shop is related to the best ale pub in town, Ship and Mitre, which is located just a few minutes away. Informative website (visited, 08.04.2013).

The Ship and Mitre’s bottle shop. The cleverly named Ship in a Bottle is tiny, with neat shelves stacked by area – Britain, Germany, Belgium, the world. There’s an impressive range of bottles and special offers for cases. They also sell home brew kits at £20, although there’s no room for glasses or other accessories. The staff were friendly.
