My hometown brewpub. How lucky is it to live 2 miles from one of the most innovative brewers and coolest brewpubs in the world. Pretty darn lucky.

This place was outstanding. The selection was very nice with quite a variety of styles. I got an appetizer, a sandwich, and a flyte of beers and was thoroughly impressed by them all. The food was great, the beers were great, and the atmosphere was very nice. One of my favorite breweries and one of my favorite taprooms.

Shortís is crazy good...the Dogfish Head of the Midwest I dare say. A Disneyland of brews. A day at Torch Lake followed by an evening st Shortís is truely sublime...

Iíve been to Shortís quite a bit over the last 4 plus years theyíve been open. I usually stop in here at least once every time Iím up north at my momís lake cottage on Intermediate Lake. Ambiance: This is located in an old hardware store in downtown Bellaire. The interior is very cool. It kind of reminds me of Bellís Eccentric cafť with the unique art and set-up. Service: The service here is usually very good. All the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beers. They are always giving non-locals help picking out something good. . Selection: They have by far the best selection Iíve seen at a brewpub, period. Itís actually quite amazing that a small brewpub in northern MI can offer so many tasty, unique, and damn good beers at one time. First they offer the 13 Imperial Beers for either takeout or to enjoy at the pub. They also offered the 3 Anniversary IPAís . Too bad theyíre out of the grapefruit. For the beers on tap, there are usually about 10 Ė 15 regular beers ($4.50 for 2

Very nice brewery in a renovated old building which lends a nostalgic feel. The beer here is always outstanding, with 16 - 20 unique taps typically available. Shortís really pushes the envelope on creativity - and does it well. You can always count on being able to try something youíve never heard of - or even thought of. The Huma Lupa Licious, Bludgeon Yer Eye, Imperial Spruce India Pilsner, Captain Fantasy, Smoreís Stout, Mystery Stout, are some of my favorite brews anywhere, and I always look forward to their anniversary beer. Iíve always had great service here, and the bartenders, though generally quite busy, are very friendly and fairly well-versed in the beer. The pub has a tiny little closet of a kitchen off the end of the bar, but they prepare surprisingly good food in it. This place is a must-visit every time I get to northern Michigan.

great beer. nice atmosphere, wide open spaces, when it gets busy it gets loud and a little chaotic, still one of my favorite places to be

Cool place and awesome beer, and fun atmosphere. The only downside is how busy the place always is. Chocolate Wheat Iis good, hazy days awesome and smokey flavor. Servers nice and lots of choices.

In a quiet little Michigan village sits one of the most incredible brewpubs in the country. I was expecting a nice place but really exceeded my expectations. A selection of 20 taps pretty much guarantees you will find something you like and many of them sessionable. Incredibly friendly service. I was there at lunch time so wasnít too crowded - seemed to be extremely popular among the retired crowd in the area but also family friendly and a selection of locally made soft drinks. Food was very good. Love this part of Michigan anyway, but this is a jewel in the crown.

Took the short trip over to Shortís during a recent trip to mid-Michigan. The drive was more than worth it. Bellaire is a small lake town brimming with young people meandering around the small downtown. The brewery sits in the small block and was practically full when we visited. The bar is modern and comfortable, a nice mix of tunes playing in the background. Over a dozen taps offered the breweryís beers. We tried The Magician, Huma Lupa, Bellaire Brown, Chocolate Wheat, Soft Parade and Pandemonium Pale. All were above average. We also grabbed a case full of 750ml Imperial beers before heading out the door. Great place to spend a few hours (or a long night if you have a place to stay). From the looks of it, they also have music every Thurs-Sat during the summer. We tried a little bit of food, but beer was definitely our focus. If you are thinking about making the trip, it is well worth your time.

Shorts is awesome! Tons of unique beers on tap, good food, and fun things to look at. The only complaint...why no wait staff? It makes things pretty annoying when you have to place your order (beer and food) at the window, wait for it, and walk it back yourself. When it gets crowded the line gets long. Oh well, still one of the best brewpubs in Michigan!
