Solid good beer in a brew pub that captures the small town feel of this great little up north town. Beer is good but no real big stouts. Did not eat food selection limited.

Stopped in on the honeymoon brew tour. Definitely worth the 45+ min. drive from TC. Bellaire is a cute little town, and Shorts is a cute little brew pub, with nice worn brick and an old-timey kind of feel. Plenty of room in there, but on our particular visit everyone was crammed into the close side near the bar, which is cool. Nice menu selections. Didnít try the pizzas but they sound good. They have at least 20 taps and a wide selection of bottles, which I took a bunch to go. Very friendly and helpful staff and decent prices. Will definitely go back next time Iím up that way, which hopefully wonít be too far into the future.

Great little brewery that smelled of malt and grains as soon as you enter. Had 2 of their beers on tap and a good price. The waitresses were all very friendly and knowledgeable of everything there. Had a sandwich PACKED with turkey which was great, but a little pricey. Looks like a lot of fun at night on the dance side. Tons of old beer cans/micro bottles lined the back of the room. Worth the drive if you can stay for a while, or have someone drive you home.

Amazing place. Joe remodeled himself, it used to be an old hardware store. 16 taps of great beer, Iíd move to Bellaire just to be closer to this place. The staff is amazing, they some of the friendliest people(except Kristen.) The pizza is great and all menu items looked good.

Very great! The highlight was the clientele, who where all very nice, enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. They serve only their beers, whose quality varied from good to great, and always interesting. The food was pretty good for the brewpub style. The remote distance makes a brew only trip as stretch however, it is in the middle of a nice tourist destination. The co$t of the imperial series is intimidating, and the lack of any of these on tap makes their purchase risky... hopefully their great, because I bought a ton.

This is a fun place in the middle of nowhere. Shorts definitely does not have Michiganís best beer, but I really admire their creativity with beer. They experiment like crazy - definitely try a sampler. The food is quite good also - definitely a plus for the place. Overall a fun, interesting place worth going out of your way for.

great beer. nice atmosphere, wide open spaces, when it gets busy it gets loud and a little chaotic, still one of my favorite places to be

We have a cottage in Traverse and we make it a point to head to Shorts for lunch a couple of times a year. Great addition to what appears to be a sleepy little town. I have never been there in the evening but they do have a nice stage for live music. The service has always been wonderful. They food is solid and I like the fact that the place has a taproom feel as opposed to a restaraunt. The beer is good. Itís not up to Founders or Bells standards yet but well worth drive.

As previously mentioned, you come here for the beer. But, the food is good too, just dont expect froo-froo menu, but good solid offerings. The beer is awesome. Especially go for the seasonal stuff, the high octane material with cherries for instance. Their IPAs are also excellent. The clientele are great too. We ended up talking with this women who was in her 70s, used to ski jump over roads in Quebec- she has her own beer glass at Shorts. One of those community places that we could use a lot more of in this country. And, a little inside tip, not found on tourist info, is a great place for homemade sausages and other meats is just up the street. I cant remember the name of the place, but am sure the folks at Shorts will know. Shorts also offers growlers to go.
