Since 2002 there has been a massive expansion of the Belgian beer selection (mostly since 2004), one of the few weaknesses Siciliano’s had compared to other Grand Rapids specialty beer stores. In addition, the increase in availability of prominent U.S. microbrewers in Michigan since 2002, including Dogfish Head, Victory, and soon Stone, has greatly improved the selection here. Still an excellent place for Michigan microbrews, but now so much more. And, as somebody who has only dabbled with homebrewing, I can’t comment on that aspect of the store, but it is an added bonus. Quality service is the norm; the owner and several of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and excited about craft beer. Pair a trip to Founders with a visit to Sicilianos for the best beer scene Grand Rapids has to offer. |
