I really need to get back to Sierra Nevada. Its been too long. Didnt take a tour or even poke around the building too much but the restaurant and the patio area are real nice. Had a burger and full sampler as my lunch. They brought out 15ish samples of beer, most of which are not bottled. That was back when they were calling Torpedo an ESB. As always the beers were good and so was the food. Prices were quite good.

April 2008 - I drove 75 minutes to get here, and I must say, I was a bit let down. What I discovered is a massive compound of commercialism, complete with a gaudy overpriced gift shop. The tour is a self-guided walk above their impressive brewhouse, complete with gigantic Euro-style copper kettles in an open-air sudhaus. The connected restaurant is just another wanna-be-upscale restaurant/pub that happens to serve the entire collection of SN regulars, plus a couple you might not find elsewhere (although all the beers were quite centerist and unadventurous). The food was good enough, if unoriginal. The service in the restaurant was indifferent at best, as if they could care less. All the staff seemed more interested in flirting amongst themselves than with keeping my beer glass full. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood, but I’d put this in my files along with other ’original’ craft breweries that are now nothing short of Busch Juniors (see Pyramid, Portland, Big Rock, et al) and won’t go out of my way again. Downer: lack of cask ale - at least in my experience.
Upper: great selection of ale and the food is first rate.

Wow, this place is huge. Parked under the solar array and next to the hop bines. Had lunch here and went on the tour. The tour was awesome, I get bored hearing about the brewing process but seeing the facility and what they are doing with green energy was worth it. 8 free samples at the end. The gift shop was great, merchandise and most the regular beers but they had a one-off “Audition Double IPA” available in a 750ml bottle. The restaurant is great, lots of locally grown vegetables and beef and a ton of beers on tap, including some great draft only selections. Value is pretty great, tour is free and the restaurant is decently priced all around. This place is amazing, to see what Ken has done here is hard to describe, you have to see it for yourself.

Visited here in September of ’05 and actually went out of my way on the way up to Redding to get here - worth the trip. Had an excellent lunch of pizza and about a half dozen or so half pints of on tap brews only available at the brewery. Our waiter turned out to be our tour guide - very friendly and knowledgeable enough - and would admit if he did not know an answer to a question - refreshing! Tours are only given once a day though - 2:00 I believe. The decor of the restaurant was nice, very airy and clean. Patio seating was available and there is a tasting bar available if you are just interested in drinking. The locals apear to love the place - as I would if I live din Chico. A must visit if anywhere near the area

We visited Sierra Nevada in 2006 and were very impressed. The brewery tour was quite good although the guide was not very knowledgeable. We were very positively surprised by the beer selection in the brew pub. First time we had the harvest and anniversary ales. We will never forget this day. Just would not eat the Burger at Carl’s Jr beforehand.

This place represents beer the way it should. Out of the way but well worth the trip. Great food and beer. Cool tour and memorabilia. Must see!

With the brewery and adjacent restaurant this is a must if you’re anywhere near. Unless things have changed, the Bigfoot is only served in half pints, but you can keep ordering them ... (a bit odd, eh?) After pitchers of Pale Ale, Pale Bock and more I felt pretty damn happy. And The Sierra sales rep had bought lunch and given me three different mustards to make it even better.

Good selection of beers. Excellent, outdoor beer garden complete with overhead "misting" system for hot, desert days. Nice gift shop. Good appetizers. I’m not a big fan of their beers, but they must have had twelve or more on tap when I visited.

Nice restaurant and big outdoor patio in front of the brewery building. Hop fields make an interesting site beyond the parking lot. Food was good, though maybe a little over priced for the quality level. Tons of Sierra Nevada beers to choose from.
