100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Keytonic (1) Tucson, Arizona | April 13, 2012 Recently toured this brewery with my wife and was very impressed. The tour itself lasted about an hour and took you threw the different stages of their beer brewing and production down to bottling and packaging. At the end of the tour you are given the chance to sample about 10 different beers. There is also a restaurant on location where you can sample more of their fine beers. Decent gift shop as well. free souvenirs , free samples, good beer! Love this place! | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Unibonger (25) Mount Shasta, California | September 26, 2012 Love this brewery. From the estate grown hops and the Solar array over the parking lot to the insanely heavy use of copper as decoration throughout the building to the patio you can hardly tell exists. Waiters/waitresses are always friendly helpful and quick. They may only have SN on tap but its a ridiculously large selection of their own brews. Brux on tap is amazing. Can’t get enough of the food. Pizzas are great personal size and are exceptional quality. Burgers are some of the best I’ve had. Though a tad bit pricey its all worth it in the long run. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 rickhall28 (140) Denville, New Jersey | March 7, 2013 These guys started it all...and they’ve come so far and grown so much (in good ways) over the past few year (can’t wait for their east coast Ashville, NC location). I love their growing variety of bars...especially the wet hop styles and the beer camp series. A visit here is a must for any beer geek. Great bar area and fantastic people. I was once told when sitting at the bar here that Sierra changed the draft Pale Ale recipe some from the bottle recipe a numner of years ago...supposedly making the draft slightly less hoppy and more approachable to gain tap space around the country. The point of the story was that...again supposedly...you could only get the original bottle recipe "on draft’ at the Chico brewery location. This may have since changed...but it’s a great story in any case. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 Rand_ale_Thor (9) , | October 6, 2012 One of the best in the country. I may update this after my tour of the US next spring, but the food and beer from here are going to be hard to live up to. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 Tylertmoore (1) Lubbock, Texas | January 14, 2007 forgot one thing. They have booths with sliding benches. You sit down and rotate the bench for the next person. Its really niffty. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 Schlenkerla (208) , Austria | February 9, 2013 We visited Sierra Nevada in 2006 and were very impressed. The brewery tour was quite good although the guide was not very knowledgeable. We were very positively surprised by the beer selection in the brew pub. First time we had the harvest and anniversary ales. We will never forget this day. Just would not eat the Burger at Carl’s Jr beforehand. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Swillbur (24) Arizona | January 25, 2012 Went on a tour on my birthday and loved this place. I have been drinking their beer since i was 15 and even lived close buy but never went to the brewery. Took me 20 years but what a nice clean place. Our guide was great and the beers were good too...cant wait to go back! | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 joeneugs (92) Livermore, California | December 11, 2011 I visited the brewery the day before Thanksgiving 2011, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I wasn’t disappointed. My rating reflects the tour as well as the restaurant. The place is huge, but I was still amazed at how much beer comes out of this place considering you can find their beer pretty much anywhere from the corner gas station to the very top craft beer stores. The restaurant is nice and spacious with an absolutely breathtaking bar. They had 17 beers on tap and all of them were included in the sampler at a reasonable price. At least 5-6 were tap only. I had the Thai chicken pizza which was very good. Service was top notch too. Be sure to visit the gift shop for lots of swag. Prices were reasonable for SN gear. The tour was absolutely the highlight for me. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and had thoughtful answers for my more in-depth questions. They take you through the whole process and you get to see everything from the mashing of the grains to the boil and on the the bottling line. They even let you walk through the hops cooler and rub your hands through the 12 or so different varieties and take sniffs. At the end they give you a complimentary tasting of about 6 or seven of the beers on tap. All of this is free. Amazing. Overall, this was one of my favorite beer experiences and I can’t wait to go back again. Even though they’ve gotten a bit big to truly claim "little guy" status, SN does things the right way. Family owned, they take care of their employees, and never sacrifice quality for growth. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 mnurda (61) Winnipeg, Manitoba | August 30, 2010 What a place. Went on a Sunday evenign just before closing. Food was fantastic, beer sampler tray was 16 deep. Can’t wait to go back | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 JoeTheYounger (44) Claremont, California | December 28, 2011 Wow what a place. So much history....great food, great beer, awesome tour, free swag. What more could you ask for from a brewery? |
