Wow, this place is huge. Parked under the solar array and next to the hop bines. Had lunch here and went on the tour. The tour was awesome, I get bored hearing about the brewing process but seeing the facility and what they are doing with green energy was worth it. 8 free samples at the end. The gift shop was great, merchandise and most the regular beers but they had a one-off ďAudition Double IPAĒ available in a 750ml bottle. The restaurant is great, lots of locally grown vegetables and beef and a ton of beers on tap, including some great draft only selections. Value is pretty great, tour is free and the restaurant is decently priced all around. This place is amazing, to see what Ken has done here is hard to describe, you have to see it for yourself.

Very nice big restaurant with good parking and a nice outside part with views to a hop garden. Samples cost $3 for 4 glasses. Food was decent and service was quick.

Great brew pub with a large selection of beers on tap. Only a few of Sierra Nevadaís offerings are available in stores, but there are always about 15 available in the tap room. The flagship Pale Ale is always good, and the Estate Ale is one of the best Iíve ever had. Even their wheat beers, which I generally do not like, are palatable to me. One thing of note is that employees here have some amazing benefits, and Iíve heard that itís a great place to work.

Most beer is not good here. Weizenbier is awful. IPAs are actually too hoppy, bitter, and salty.
BUT!! The OVILA dubbel is very good. Worth the trip. Food is good. Place is too busy perhaps. But it has a rhythm. OVILA = very good!

Recently toured this brewery with my wife and was very impressed. The tour itself lasted about an hour and took you threw the different stages of their beer brewing and production down to bottling and packaging. At the end of the tour you are given the chance to sample about 10 different beers. There is also a restaurant on location where you can sample more of their fine beers. Decent gift shop as well. free souvenirs , free samples, good beer! Love this place!

I had the opportunity to attend one of Sierraís Beer Camps, so this rating might be skewed a little bit, as I got substantial more VIP access to the brewery than one would receive if visiting for a regular tour. Iíll keep my rating as objective as possible. I know they offer 4-5 free tours throughout the day. What I did see of the regular tour seemed to provide ample access to the brewery. The restaurant is fairly large with a sizeable outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful springtime Chico weather. The actual bar itself is a tad on the small size. Maybe ~ 12-15 seats and when busy, it can get a little cramped. Only Sierra offerings on tap, but plenty of them. All served in proper glassware. They donít have a cask line running all of the time, but every Thursday at 4, thereís a handpull for pint pours. The food is better than average, not amazing, but very reasonably priced. They try to use as much local ingredients as possible. Local beef raised on spent grain, local fruits/nuts/olives/greens, bread made from the spent grain, etc. I ate dinner there once and lunch twice and the place seemed to be packed at all hours of the day. The brewery itself is a huge complex. Very pretty copper brew kettles seemingly all over the place. The hop freezers are massive and chock full of full cone hops from around the world. Expansive gift shop selling all sorts of Sierra beer as well as just about everything you could possibly think they could put their logo on. What really makes Sierra stand out to me is their commitment to being as "green" as possible. They recycle everything that is possible; CO2, used grain, hops, their water, etc. Solar panels cover the roof of the parking lot as well as the brewery. I could go on and on about how much respect I gained for the brewery in the two days that I spent there, but I wonít. Bottom line... if your anywhere near Chico, itís worth a stop for sure. Is it worth the 2+ hour drive from SanFran? Maybe not. But if you do have the opportunity to go, I would highly recommend it.

Went on a tour on my birthday and loved this place. I have been drinking their beer since i was 15 and even lived close buy but never went to the brewery. Took me 20 years but what a nice clean place. Our guide was great and the beers were good too...cant wait to go back!

Foods one of their lower scores? That I donít get. The regular menu items are vast and tasty, and thereís been a few specials on previous visits that blew my mind. Decent prices, tasters. Always have draft only stuff going in addition to the ever expanding bottled selection. It used to be a so so brewer for me, but what theyíve done in the last few years really shows. Nice atmosphere, and have yet to have bad or slow service.

I visited the brewery the day before Thanksgiving 2011, and I couldnít be more excited about it. I wasnít disappointed. My rating reflects the tour as well as the restaurant. The place is huge, but I was still amazed at how much beer comes out of this place considering you can find their beer pretty much anywhere from the corner gas station to the very top craft beer stores. The restaurant is nice and spacious with an absolutely breathtaking bar. They had 17 beers on tap and all of them were included in the sampler at a reasonable price. At least 5-6 were tap only. I had the Thai chicken pizza which was very good. Service was top notch too. Be sure to visit the gift shop for lots of swag. Prices were reasonable for SN gear. The tour was absolutely the highlight for me. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and had thoughtful answers for my more in-depth questions. They take you through the whole process and you get to see everything from the mashing of the grains to the boil and on the the bottling line. They even let you walk through the hops cooler and rub your hands through the 12 or so different varieties and take sniffs. At the end they give you a complimentary tasting of about 6 or seven of the beers on tap. All of this is free. Amazing. Overall, this was one of my favorite beer experiences and I canít wait to go back again. Even though theyíve gotten a bit big to truly claim "little guy" status, SN does things the right way. Family owned, they take care of their employees, and never sacrifice quality for growth.
